22.01.2022 Statement on SMH article 27.10.20 In reference to an article published in the Sydney Morning Herald today, "Unbearable grief: parents want answers over their baby's death, RANZCOG would like to issue the following comments. The article was shared on RANZCOG’s social media platforms and should not have been. That was an error and was not an endorsement of the article, or its contents. We apologise, unreservedly, for this action and references to the article have been taken do...wn from all RANZCOG sites. The President was contacted by the journalist for comment last week. The journalist did not provide the names of the doctors, nor inform the President that the doctors would be named. The President’s comments were specifically not critical of the doctors or midwives and, instead, called for better education and support for medical staff. RANZCOG does not support naming individual doctors in the media. Particularly in this case, it serves no public interest, and is damaging to individuals, both personally, and professionally. RANZCOG has reached out to the doctors involved and offered our unequivocal support.

22.01.2022 PANDA Week is a wrap! It was incredible last week to see individuals and organisations right across the country getting together to have conversations about per...inatal mental health, hosting events and sharing information and stories highlighting why it’s important for those who are struggling to be able to ‘tell someone who cares’. In addition to all the ‘I care’ photos shared across social media, PANDA also featured in hundreds of media stories across the week, with over 400 items of coverage on radio and TV alone, reaching millions of Australians. We were pleased and proud to be able to speak on behalf of our amazing community to so many people. With another PANDA Week behind us, we want to thank everyone in our community for supporting our campaign and taking action to build a better system of care for expecting and new parents affected by perinatal mental illness See more

13.01.2022 Upcoming FIGO Global Webinar 29th October: FIGO Global Webinar: Innovations in quality service delivery in Family Planning that may become best practices in the time of COVID-19 and beyond... Time: 3pm GMT (2am AEDT Friday, 30 October 2020) Description: This Webinar will explore examples of innovations that are likely to become best practices and new approaches to ensuring quality of care in family planning given the demands of our response to COVID-19 and in the planning for Universal Health Coverage (UHC). While some of these innovations have been thought of as promising in recent years, they had yet to be widely adopted and scaled up before the pandemic. Our speakers will describe the innovation, characterize in what contexts it will become a best practice, its potential costs and benefits for women and health systems, provide examples of where it has been adopted, and the outcomes we might expect when it is accepted as a best practice at scale.
