02.01.2022 When you start working your life becomes busier. Adding kids, friends and family into this mix makes life infinitely busier again. So how do you begin to manage your time? The answer is in one simple word.... No. Sometimes in life, you have to realise it’s your responsibility to acknowledge you can’t do everything and you will need to say NO. It’s not always easy, but it is always important! Saying no in the right way is equally important, here’s how you can say ‘no’ like a pro: - Say ‘no’ as soon as possible, it doesn’t get better with age - Try to offer an alternate solution for the person asking - Be assertive yet compassionate to their needs - you don’t need to list all of the reasons why you can’t do it, keep it succinct and polite - Try not to make the other person feel bad for asking Saying no does get easier with practice, I promise! But while you’re learning here are some handy alternatives to try the next time you need to say NO: I wish I could but there just isn't any way I could with my current workload I would love to if there were two of me, but I am absolutely swamped this week Thanks for the opportunity but I wouldn't be able to do the task justice with my current commitments #mentoring #stressmanagement #selfhelp
