21.01.2022 Gridiron Australia Updates September 2020 Board Changes Gridiron Australia Director of Football Operations, Kevin Wilson has tendered his resignation from the G...A Board, we would like to thank Kevin for the work he has done for the growth of our sport in this country. His passion for the sport has been unbridled and we wish him all the best in his future football endeavors. The Director of Football Operations portfolio is currently vacant, if you would like to apply to step into this role please contact [email protected] General member nominations are now also open If you would like to apply for this role or think you can assist in the running of the national body please contact [email protected] -------------------- World Cup Updates The proposed new schedule from IFAF is for the Junior World Cup to be played in 2021, and are currently exploring options. We hope to have an announcement about this soon. Women's World Cup are considering viability for 2022, location not yet confirmed. Men's World Cup still considering viability for 2023, location yet to be confirmed. -------------------- Gridiron Australia Nationals We are currently looking at rescheduling both Men’s and Women’s Nationals to be played next year in 2021, with Juniors in 2022 - however, we are still waiting on current situations with COVID border restrictions and state transmissions to improve before confirming any details. -------------------- COVID Updates GA COVID Safety Officer, Stacey Speer has been working with states to implement COVID Safety Plans in line with the Sport Australia guidelines. We are very pleased that football is back, however please ensure you are following the specific state guidelines while playing and/or spectating to stop the spread and keep our community healthy. We hope to see Gridiron Victoria bounce back in 2021. Reminder for all states is to provide GA with their competition contact tracing documents on the 28th of each month once the season starts. -------------------- Gridiron Australia Flag We are seeking submissions for a GA Flag Taskforce to present a competition framework for introducing at club level through to Outback representation. We are working on sourcing GA Flag branded kits and to give these to states to encourage flag participation and growth. The taskforce ideally would represent each state, however as this is a new program we hope to encourage members of our community to work together to develop this exciting program, culminating in the representation of Australia at the 2023 World Games. for additional information please email - [email protected] -------------------- Coaching Accreditation Update The Gridiron Australia Coaching Accreditation Program was launched earlier this year, since July we have received 112 EOI's for access to the program and 79% of those have been given logins to the portal. If you have not yet received your login, you may need to register with GA through revolutionise - please email [email protected] for further information. We have secured our tackling certification partnership with Atavus Tackling, this means that if you have not yet for this year completed your USA Football tackling certification, you will need to complete the Atavus program (which covers for 2 years) We will still be accepting USA Football certifications for this year only, as of 2021 Atavus Tackling will be mandatory for all coaches registered with GA. -------------------- 2020 Member Survey GA will be launching a member survey later this year, a chance to give feedback and priorities for planning over the next few years. More details regarding this will be given at a later date.

20.01.2022 Good Morning Spartan and Raptor Nation. Well yesterday showed a great deal of promise and lots of determination and pride. Not everything went our way or as we ...had hoped, but that is football and that is why we play the game. On behalf of the coaches and committee I wanted to say how immensely proud we are of you all and the way you conducted yourselves on and off the field. As was once said so well: "We win together, we lose together. We celebrate and we mourn together. And defeats are softened and victories sweeter because we did them together" Look forward to seeing everyone on Monday night to reset and start the focus on Week 2 (remember training is now Mon & Wed 6-8pm).

16.01.2022 Round 8 21st November 2020 Attention Visiting Clubs to Raptors Regarding this weekend’s games at the Raptors Home Field, please be aware of the following: QR codes for contact tracing will be positioned at the entry point of the controlled area . All other areas outside the controlled area and the Field of Play are deemed open to the public and unable to be supervised by the Raptors Gridiron, as it is a MBRC public park. PLEASE ENTER & EXIT VIA THE CORRECT AREA.... (Map to be posted shortly) DO NOT ENTER ACROSS FIELD OR FROM THE ENDZONES. Change rooms will NOT be open for players to change in before and after the game. The Field of Play area is a restricted area and includes the playing area, the sideline areas, the Officials area and the Medics tent. Players, Coaches, Club volunteers, Officials and the GQ provided Medics are the only ones permitted in these restricted areas. We strongly encourage social distancing. A sanitizer station will be positioned at entry point. Soap and sanitizer will be provided in the toilets and around the area. We request that everyone exercises good hygiene practices by washing your hands. If you feel unwell or are suffering from any symptoms of COVID-19, we request that you please stay home and seek medical attention. We request that all players behave in a respectful manner at all times. Please follow any DIRECTIVES given from Raptors Gridiron Staff . Vansittart Rd, Regents Park 4118 Kick off Time(s): 11:00am Juniors vs Bears 1:30pm Colts vs Stingrays 4:00pm Mens vs Bears Player Arrival Time(s): 2 hrs before Kick Off. Game Day protocols: We will have limited to no access to change room facilities . PLAYERS are to turn up ready for the game with this in mind. Field access during games: Only registered coaches/players with that team will be allowed access to the sideline- Including water officers - and registered GQ representatives. GQ Game Day COVID SAFE Water Bottle Management Policy:- 1. Personal player hydration:- A player is permitted to have their own supply of their preferred form of hydration products in their own gear bag at the back of the players box on your teams sideline. The player is to keep their supply in their bag and MUST NOT share their bottle with other players. The player may access their bag as frequently as required. 2. Team hydration and water bottle management:- Players are not permitted to handle team water bottles under any circumstances. Teams are to have designated Water Officers, who will be responsible for supplying the players with water by shooting the water into the open mouth of the player without any contact being made between the water bottle and the player’s mouth. 3. The designated Water Officer’s responsibilities:- A team may have as many Water Officers as they deem necessary. They must be wearing a club polo/t-shirt, hi-vis yellow vest and closed-in footwear. Under special Covid safe guidelines, the Water Officers are the only people permitted to touch and fill the water bottles. Player are at no time permitted to touch, hold or fill a water bottle. The only way a player can drink from a sideline water bottle, is to have it supplied to them by a Water Officer in the before mentioned method. Good Luck to all for this coming Weekend .

The Queensland Gridiron Officials Asso...ciation are seeking interest from the public and the wider gridiron community to join our team for the 2021 season! If you’ve been thinking of hanging up the boots or taking a year away, but still love the game, why not become an official and stay involved? Or, even if you've never been involved with gridiron before, but you're interested in learning to officiate, we'd love to hear from you. You can earn some pocket money, and with greater skills and experience comes opportunities to officiate interstate or overseas. Development of officials is focussed upon, with initial training occurring online and experienced officials providing guidance on game days. 04.01.2022 Some COVIDsafe instructions from the Bears venue for Saturday. There are 2 entries and 2 exits. Do NOT enter or leave from anywhere other than the designated spots. This includes coaches and players. Upon entry, EVERYONE (coaches, players, and spectators) must scan in using the QR code found at the entry. Please screenshot your COVID sign-in as there will be volunteers asking to see it. ... Instructions will be at the entrances. GQ also encourages everyone to download and use the COVIDsafe app. Change rooms will be closed. Please arrive ready to play in game pants and undershirt. These rules will be in effect at all grounds (including our own) at game days throughout this season. PLEASE be respectful of the clubs, the volunteers, and the rules. This season CAN NOT happen without EVERYONE helping out by simply: staying home if sick, and following the rules if you are attending. Now, let's play some FOOTBALL!!!
