22.01.2022 Detail shot, this one is actually A3, so hard to get into a square format! Growing wildly, a passsion of leaves and life. This is ink and watercolour, pattern and detail. Lines, shapes, spots, zig zags, circles... It is framed and hanging in the exhibition, and I know if it sells, I will be chuffed, but I do like it myself! Sometimes I get attached to a piece, and feel distinct loss at letting it go. But then comes joy that someone else will love it. Weird??? I am so prou...d to have my work hang in this brilliant gallery, in country NSW. 19.01.2022 Finished! A big poster size one, this is just a detail shot. It was trying out a new palette of colours that @micadorforartists have released and gifted to me. So much fun! On Sunday I am hosting my first workshops for 2020, and I am so excited. Only a few places are left, so a good gaggle of people who I know are going to fall in love with watercolour. Watching people fall in love with this medium is a pure joy, a delight. Still thrills me to the core, after many year...s of teaching art. 12.01.2022 A triptych . 'Imagined Valley' These are older works that I attacked again, adding more layers and patterns. More colour too, of course ! Acrylics are VERY new to me. I was gifted a big box of them.by a friend, who said " You might have some fun with these".Tjanks @dmj_art_photography Challenge accepted! I was already deep in pattern land when I began playing, so... tried doing in acrylics what I do in watercolour. Hmmmmm. Now I mix the two mediums! Happy days! Only 7 minutes drive from home, this is my hood. After having drought for so very long, everything wringed of life, collapsed of energy, sucked dry with heat and colour, parched, this wet lovely stuff falling from above is a gift. Never taken for granted. My harden is a source of hapoy happy joy joy, mental holidays, inspiration, wonder, delight, dreaming, wishing, hoping. The other one is just caramel fudgey coloured chilled. (One of about 6!) This is only SOME of the many thousands to yet be added to this creation. It is in my exhibition at the moment, showing what I have been up to in the last 12 months. Yep, all sorts of things. It amazes even me. I always wonder why I cannot stay focussed on ONE THING. I rea...lly bounce around. But maybe this is a positive, not a negative? A larger poster size piece I am finishing off for a solo exhibition I am having at Grenfell here in Central West NSW at the end of this month. 'INSIDE life INSIDE' Madly finishing off pieces, framing, pricing etc, as well as doing @the_breadtag_project and finishing the 100 days project of little houses! Jugglig, juggling, juggling. Must remember to breathe! 01.01.2022 Saturday! Rainy grey and cold here. But happy as a clam! Last night my exhibition opening, and lovely people and some lovely red dots too. Yahoo to culture and art in the country, in the bush! We do have it, loads of it actually. . This is one in the show, on a wooden box frame. Acrylics and watercolour. Really enjoying working like this, and a joy to not have to frame it too! Make no mistake, framing is wonderful,for sure and it is like MAGIC to see how it transforms a t...hing to ZING! . But it can be expensive, heavy, fragile, cumbersome when you involve glass etc. So this is delightful to feel the texture of the wood, and paint on it, and see it as a finished piece when you lay down your brushes. How do you like to paint? Wood, canvas, paper?
