24.01.2022 Hello June, Hello Friends. Wow, Winter time is here. ( although it feels like spring here in Newcastle ) Today marks the first day of Winter 2020. We also see patrons return to their favourite cafes and restaurants as restrictions ease. We can not wait till food markets open back up, we miss feeding you all and sharing the beauty of Ayurveda. For now take this post and look to incorporate movement into your day. Earth and Water hold cold, heavy and slow qualities. Counteract this by increasing opposite qualities such as warm, light and mobile/stimulation ( like yoga, cycling, Bush walk.. not coffee)
24.01.2022 One of the two curries we will be serving at the next @newcastle.veganmarket. Who wants this in their belly? It’s spiced perfectly for the cooler breeze in the air. All dishes Gluten free, onion and garlic free and made with love! We can not wait to see all our regulars and meet new friendly faces at the next market.
21.01.2022 We don’t just eat curries and dosa, we love a roast veggie salad when the nights are crisp.Especially with these beautiful root vegetables. How stunning are @feedbackorganic chioggia beets?

13.01.2022 Did you know spices have different qualities that make them medicinal ? These qualities are what assist us in picking them when cooking . Some spices are heating others are cooling. Some are light some are heavy. Some are pungent some are sweet.. etc This photo was taken before we made a delicious Ayurvedic rice dish -... - - - - - - - - - #ayurveda #health #foodasmedicine #spices #sixtaste #ayurvedicfood #rasa #mealplans #ayurvedaforall #dinner #newcastle #ayurveda #healthylife #seasonalfood #plantbased #vegan See more
12.01.2022 Which would you pick? Ayurvedic dishes are so versatile, forever changing as the base vegetables and spices are varied based on what’s in season at the time and spices are picked based on if the dish needs to be lighter, warming, cooling or grounding. Some dishes can be made tridoshic, which makes them wonderful for all year round
10.01.2022 ICE COLD WATER As the weather warms up you will start to reach for the colder water with the idea that it will cool you down. From an Ayurvedic perspective, ice cold water puts your digestive fire out. With a low digestive fire you see alot of issues arise for the person. Such as sluggish digestion. The food and liquid we consume becomes part of our 7 tissues through the digestion process so if the digestion Fire is weakened or put out. All the food you’re consuming is not... converted to nutrients for the body as effectively as it should be. We recommended sipping room temperature water when the weather is warm and warmer liquids when weather is cold. Food can also be used to cool the body. Feel hot? drink room temperature liquid and consume cooling foods such as coconut, cucumber, fennel tea, coriander and pears.

07.01.2022 Just like all our other fellow Vegan Market Stall Holders we have had to think outside of the box to ensure our food is still available to our new and old customers. We are currently sorting out the online order system so those who had plans to attend the @newcastle.veganmarket can order their food and it be delivered. ( NEWCASTLE AREA) Our website link is in our bio, if you subscribe we will send an email once live or if you’re not keen with subscription emails ( fear of s...pam) we totally understand and will also update via our socials We at RASA see the need for businesses to work together and creatively all whilst following the World Health Organisation and National Government guidelines regarding COVID-19. Sending lots of love to everyone during this time @ Newcastle, New South Wales See more
06.01.2022 For us this was an easy decision. This might come as a shock as during this time people are scrambling for work/income/stability. We are very lucky in that the work Sen does outride of RASA requires her more than ever right now. We currently have one steady income and our side business of Rasa had only just started. With that we know of many where their food stall business is their sole income, their every day gig. We would feel horrible taking customers from those who are re...lying on it solely. With this we will be sharing all of our favourite businesses that will be part of the NSW vegan marketplace that’s currently in the works. We need to band together and support each other during these times. If you’d still love some Ayurvedic food , please send us a message and Kana will send through some simple easy to follow recipes. Sending lots of love to those around us xx @vegannsw @newcastle.veganmarket

04.01.2022 Cold rainy nights call for warming dinners. Right now we have been loving all the organic produce from local farmers. Playing around with ingredients for our next market stall. As we get into Autumn, dishes need to be grounding and warming. The elements of air and either (space) are prevalent during Autumn, the process of cooking a dish should try and decrease these elements, think one pot dishes. Stay warm and dry everyone
