My life’s f...irst Kathak Guru, Guru Ved Vyas Ji has left for his heavenly abode. A legend, who never forgot his roots. A man of dignity and respect. He was the one who didn’t change with time. He remained pure. At the innocent age, when I couldn’t even tie my Ghungroo, he taught me the very first Kathak syllables. I was the chubby little ‘Kanjak’ of his class and he was the Guru/Santa with my favourite orange treats. Being that little girl, I just want to say: I will miss you Guruji. I will continue my journey without you. I will pray each day for your peace. And I know, one way or the other, you will always be with me. #youwillbemissed

14.01.2022 Children have their own way to narrate their many stories. Thank you my dearest Anmol for this lovely drawing. While drawing she even thought of how... I always wear Indian suites with floral prints and how Anmol and her friends come to class straight after school in their uniforms. Sometimes the subtle details we adults tend to ignore capture a child’s mind. And I loved how she wrote ‘yay’ depicting her feelings. My favourite is the part where she drew us holding hands that is the trust you build in a guru and shishya relationship. Such a refreshing interpretation! Isn’t it?? Dr. Anita Ratnam’s curation, this series of commissioned dance sequences, featured dancers across the globe. Through this video, I bring an understanding of how it felt during COVID-19 lockdown. It illustrates how nature and its revival abilities can inspire us even in these unprecedented times to remain positive. This, to me is symbolised by... a pearl, which develops in seclusion within an oyster, however, upon opening of the shell, a beautiful pearl has crystallised.
