24.01.2022 Hello everyone! Today we said goodbye to five pallets of toys going out to thousands of children in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth! We also said goodbye to 80 cartons going out to all over the whole country, including: Darwin, Hobart, Canberra, Toowoomba, Townsville, Shepparton, Wodonga, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Wollongong, Launceston, Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, and many varied suburbs of Melbourne. ... I can't emphasise enough how much of a privilege it is to distribute all the toys that have come from all your utter kindness, love and generosity. Huge, huge thank you.

24.01.2022 Hello, I hope that everyone is keeping well and safe out there. I am soon to start work on the end of year report which will showcase our huge success in together distributing toys to every single refugee and asylum seeker child across every corner of Australia last Christmas! I really can't thank each of you enough. One such person to thank is Anthony of Online is Easy (link below). Anthony supported our journey last year from the outset by working together with Rosemary Ham...ilton to create our website from scratch for free. This was a huge and significant step for the RASTD to be able to begin to grow, enabling our eventual success. With current social isolating, it is the perfect time to share with you all the work that Online is Easy does, in helping to create online platforms for groups and businesses to connect with people. Right now they are offering a 30 minute free remote consultation to help with getting businesses online. They are an official 'Google Partner' and can help you with website / email creation, online communication, and creating your domain name and cloud based solutions. Please join with me in thanking them for their generosity, and please do consider them if you need any online solutions for your business or group; the RASTD website is testament to the quality and care of their work. Take care out there, much love.

09.01.2022 If you'd like to learn more about the direct human experience of being a refugee or someone seeking asylum, then please do yourself the favour and watch this remarkable film. Filmed across 23 countries, renowned artist Ai Wei Wei has created something truly special with this film. This is precisely why we do the work that we do. Much love.

08.01.2022 Hello! We need some people to help us pack and prepare the gifts. Is anybody able to volunteer 1-2 hours over the next few days? We're based in Northcote.

08.01.2022 Here's a wonderful little story about the impact that just a little bit of kindness can make to those seeking a new home. Thanks to Den Iz for the share.

08.01.2022 Hello everyone, we are well underway in our efforts to provide toys out to every single refugee and asylum child in Australia. So that we can spend more of our raised funds on toys, we are on the lookout to partner with, or get support from, a trucking / transport company to help us deliver toys interstate. Do any of you know anyone that is linked to such a service that may be interested in helping us get the toys out to these kids? Big huge thanks in advance.

07.01.2022 Hello fine people, we hope that we are all staying safe and taking care out there! We just wanted to let you all know that we have today completed our Annual Report from last year's success and have emailed it out; if you didn't get one, but would like one, please just message us, providing your email address. There are a ton of great photos in there! Also, we have also today completed work on updating our website! It would be great if you could take a look and let us kno...w what you think! Oh, and please do feel free to share it far and wide. Thanks again for your support. All the very best to each of you.

07.01.2022 The Age wrote about us too!

06.01.2022 Can you believe it's November already?! It certainly has been a tough year for many. Did you know that refugees and asylum seekers were not eligible for any supplement payments through the pandemic? It is this reason alone that will make our efforts this year so much more meaningful. ... Can you help us to get toys to some of Australia's most vulnerable children by making a donation or by sharing this post amongst your people? Many thanks.

06.01.2022 This is the most beautiful moment of my life and one that I would like to share with you all. After 2,737 days locked up in detention I am free. Thank you to... all of the amazing people who helped me to stay strong. I have been in contact with many wonderful people in Australia who have supported my resistance. I have been fighting for my freedom for a long time, and without you it would not have been possible. We need to continue to think about the people who remain in detention. There will still be 14 people locked up behind the tinted glass. There are also refugees from Manus and Nauru in MITA, BITA, Kangaroo Point and other detention centres, struggling behind fences. They don't have a voice. They need your help. The reason that I have been able to stay strong for eight years is because I never felt that I was alone. I always felt that there were people in Australia who cared about me. People who didn’t support with this cruel policy of torture and imprisonment. I still believe that the power of the people can crumble the walls of oppression and my freedom today is proof. I have seen the pain of my brothers in detention, I have listened to their traumatic stories. If these people weren't in danger in their homeland, they wouldn't have fled and left everything behind. Most of these people are now in your land, but still waiting for their freedom. These people have families and friends just like you. These people are human. These people have hopes and dreams, they are already a part of this society. Yet they need your help. If I am able to obtain my freedom, there should be the opportunity for the others seeking asylum to have their freedom as well. Until all of us are free, none of us are truly free.

05.01.2022 Good afternoon everybody, I am pleased to announce that we have today launched our new campaign early for 2020. We know that it is a tough time for many folks out there, with none doing it tougher than the refugees and asylum seekers amongst us, who have no access to any of the COVID payments from the government. If you are able to spare any coin at all, it would really help us to support such families and children; even if you can't, if you could kindly consider sharing this link far and wide, it would equally be of great help. Also - We will soon be distributing our report from last year's efforts that has so many great photos in it, and furthermore, we're currently updating our website, so watch this space. Take care out there. Much love.

04.01.2022 Hello everyone! I hope that we're all very well. Today I received a very gracious thanks from VACCA (Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency) that belongs to each of you. We were able to together donate 1,000 toys to VACCA at Christmas after our overwhelming success at providing a toy to each of the refugee and asylum seeker children across Australia. I am slowly working on the end of year report and will distribute it as soon as it's done. ... Happy long weekend.

02.01.2022 Do you believe in chance meetings? About a week ago, whilst moving some toys from one storage space to another, we happened to bump into a lady who was waiting to use the lift. After a brief chat about what the toys were for and about our overall campaign, we went on our separate ways. About 2-3 days later this lady introduced herself, as Stephanie Brady, Producer at Decibel Architecture and apart from stating her support for our work and her overall passion and commitment to... our cause, she, and her husband and Decibel Conductor, Dylan Brady, invited us in to meet their staff, and to offer the Refugee and Asylum Seeker Toy Drive, a huge $3,000 cash donation! Not only will this sum go a long way to helping us to provide a toy to every refugee and asylum seeker child in Australia, but is a huge acknowledgement of our work, and the kindness of our donors. Please join with me in thanking them for their generosity. It is not too late to feel the love and joy from giving! Please visit our website at: https://www.rastoydrive.org.au/ to donate. Huge thanks.

02.01.2022 Hello! Many of you will know that over the past few years we have together managed to gift over 40,000 toys across the whole country! We now want to provide these children with an awesome day out!... In conjunction with Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo and Walk About Wildlife Sanctuary, we have secured entry for hundreds of these children, but need your help to get them there! If you could please kindly consider donating, or sharing this post, it would make a huge difference. Much love and many thanks. https://chuffed.org/project/rastd-fbfdo1

Here they are busy in action amongst a sea of toys.
