23.01.2022 RTA RELEASE: Important changes to RTA services for #Queensland #tenants #Landlords #Propertymanagers The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) is improving the services we offer tenants, landlords and property agents as part of our commitment to renting that works for everyone. Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the following updates to RTA services. 1. Lodging a rental bond online ... Tenants, as well as landlords and agents, can lodge a bond directly with the RTA through our new Bond Lodgement web service. Its a quick, secure and convenient way to lodge a single bond, and payment options include credit card, debit card and BPAY. From 1 October 2019, the Bond Lodgement web service will replace the option to upload scanned PDF copies of paper Bond lodgement forms via the RTA website. Lodging a bond online is faster, easier and more convenient than printing, completing, scanning and uploading a paper Bond lodgement form via the old PDF upload facility, or posting forms to the RTA. Posted lodgements will remain available for customers who cannot access RTA web services. 2. Rental bond refunds The RTA is developing an online bond refund service to make the refund process more convenient. This web service is expected to launch in the coming months and will ultimately replace the PDF upload facility for scanned forms. Subscribe to the RTA Newsroom for more information on timings. 3. Paper-free RTA from 1 January 2020 From 1 January 2020 the RTA will no longer print forms and publications. Customers will still be able to download forms and publications from the RTA website, and order single copies via the Contact Centre. Our drive towards paper-free services will reduce the rental sectors environmental footprint and enable the RTA to focus resources on delivering tailored customer services.
