25.01.2022 As of June 1, we’re allowed to seat one guest per four square meters of internal floor space. Given what this would mean for us (and our modest footprint), we’ll be carrying on trading as we have been, until we’re able to make better use of our space. That said, as of Monday, we welcome back BYO cups (squeaky clean only, pleeeeeease) and we’ll have some furniture set up outside. To everyone who’s supported us during this strangest of experiences, thank you. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have been so well taken care of and it’s hard to overstate how much it means to me, and all of us at Rat. We love you xo

22.01.2022 Few new things in the cabinet of late. Like this canelé. A specialty of Bordeaux, these guys are baked in a copper mould lined with a beeswax/butter mix. Super crisp on the outside, pudding-y and on the inside. #sugoi @ Rat the Cafe

15.01.2022 Breakfast sandwich preorders are now available via rat the cafe.com.au/shop A few #disclaimers: BS is available to preorder for collection Saturday or Sunday.... You’ll also be asked to select a half-hour pickup window. If you arrive outside your selected collection time, no problem! There may just be a longer wait. If a time slot is sold out, it doesn’t mean there aren’t more sandwiches, just no more collection slots at that time. No additions, no alterations*. We really appreciate your support and understanding where this is concerned and apologise to anyone it excludes. *we can leave the fried egg out.

13.01.2022 It’s true. As of this moment, you can head to ratthecafe.com.au, follow the links to our online store and purchase a loaf of @wildlifebakery sourdough. All orders placed online will be available for pickup the following day - if you’d like bread the same day, we’ll still have loaves in store, available on a first-in-best-dressed basis, as always. We do beg your pardon in advance for any technical issues we encounter during this process. Our rigorous testing tells us we’ve ironed out all creases but reality almost always has a few surprises in store. We’ll be adding items as we go so keep eyes peeled for updates re. those additions.
