20.01.2022 US Patent Office: Women inventors have less success than men at each step of the patent application process in the U.S. A recent study has shown that a review of more than 2 million submissions to the US Patent and Trademark Office finds that, regardless of the field, processing times are slower, rejection rates are higher, and the scope of the patent ends up narrower for filings coming from women than from men. It seems that even the US patent office discriminates or is there some other reason?

08.01.2022 Stupid Patents: When it comes to granting stupid patents the USPTO are the leaders in this field. In 1999 the USPTO actually granted someone a patent for a toy made of any number of materials including rubber, plastic, or wood including wood composites for an animal, for example a dog, to either fetch, carry or chew and including at least one protrusion extending therefrom that resembles a branch in appearance. While the description is bad enough, you have to look at the image submitted to fully appreciate how ridiculous this one is. USPTO actually granted a patent on a fake stick.
