23.01.2022 This is the Australia Day Lineup Bill Fergusen on Keys Graham Elsley Guitar Berry Dennien Drums Pete Lemke Bass

12.01.2022 Next in line for RAVEN band introductions is Barry Dennein. Barry Dennien is a drummer and vocalist whose roots go back to the seventies where he first played at age 13. His first band was formed in Bundaberg where an unusually strong music scene enabled young performers to play with experienced musicians and develop their skills quickly. He played professionally in 1981-82 on the active Queensland east coast circuit where he supported most of the Australian bands who toure...d that part of the coast at that time including Cold Chisel and Skyhooks. Through the eighties Barry performed live on television, dabbled with original music in the emerging grunge scene and played with the Foster Brothers from the Jon English Band. Now based in Bellingen NSW, Barry has perfected a style influenced by the heavy weight drummers of the seventies and eighties, John Bonham, Ian Pace and Stuart Copeland and mellowed by fusion jazz, funk and blues. It’s been documented recently that, Barry is all about energy, power and feel. His new bands both RAVEN and The New Black, are the perfect outlets to release that energy. If you are an up and coming drummer this is the guy you want to come and see perform. See more

04.01.2022 Next in line for the RAVEN band introductions is Bill Ferguson on Hammond Organ/Keyboards. With a wealth of experience in Rock, Blues and Fusion Bill Ferguson is known as the Hammond Organ Guy. Bringing the overdriven Hammond/Leslie sounds made famous by bands such as Deep Purple and Santana in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and is still as current today as a classic keyboard sound. Bill’s early career began in Wagga Wagga in the NSW Riverina gigging with Pop and Rock bands Tode and Lo...w Profile and supporting acts such as INXS, Midnight Oil and Men at Work as they toured down the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne. Also working with the groundbreaking Riverina Theatre Company, on stage shows such as Tommy, The Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more. Early influences include Deep Purple, Santana, Yes, EL&P, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Miles Davis. A move to Sydney in 1990 led to less gigging, more Jamming and furthering his career as a Music Instrument Retailer culminating as Sydney’s exclusive Hammond Organ Retailer and promoter from 2000 to 2015. In recent years Bill can be found gigging in the cutting edge act Blues Exile and can be heard on their 2018 When I First Met The Blues EP which reached 7 on the Blues Radio airplay charts and experimenting with Sydney’s Sams Commune Jam Band plus fulfilling the Hammond role in Crossroads Eric Clapton Tribute alongside Grahame Elsley. 02.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came to the show today and sorry to those who weren't allowed in due to the restrictions. Can't wait to do it again.

02.01.2022 Last but not least for RAVEN band introductions on Bass is Pete-the Black Cadillac-Lemke. Worldwide bass phenomenon and multi instrumentalist.........Nah that’s BS. My claim to fame is playing alongside the guys I do. It’s an absolute pleasure whether it’s the guys from THE NEW BLACK or RAVEN I’ve never been happier than I am now. We play great songs, its quality and if the corona virus lets us we’ll be playing for many more years together. I do have some musical hist...ory. At age 12 I played euphonium in the Toronto District Brass Band then with the help of my brother Kim Lemke learned the guitar playing every Neil Young song known to man. After being kicked out of the Navy in 1991 I started, with the help of Mark Wilson, Mick Party King, Richard Faz Mathews and Mark Soprano, NEXT STOP EARTH and realised why I was on this planet, to rock n roll. We played more than 100 shows in a couple of years at some of the best venues in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie but I think my favourite was the Jolly Roger. After that I didn’t play a gig for 25 years until I met a new set of musical brothers in Nambucca Heads, I play Bass and sing for RAVEN and THE NEW BLACK and together with Baz Dennien we make a formidable rhythm section. I was told once that if you surround yourself with better players then you can only improve and I feel that is what is happening. Well that’s it for RAVEN. I look forward to seeing you at gigs soon. We have shows booked at the STAR HOTEL Macksville 17th April and THE FEDERAL HOTEL Bellingen 9th May but there is a chance they will be cancelled so stay tuned we may do a live stream in the weeks ahead.
