24.01.2022 Super Mums & Super Kids had their 2nd session yesterday and wowie it was fun, motivational and everyone was just AMAZING!! We talked about goal setting, made healthy jelly, fruit poo and had an very ACTIVE session with Megs from Fit 'n' Kicking. If you are reading this post and you are a Super Mum, then you need to ask your Super Kids a number and do that many squats and bridges.... GO. ... Super Mums has 2 more sessions left this term and I am SUPER excited about what is happening in them!! Thanks Womensport and Recreation Tasmania for this opportunity. Cheers, Verity

22.01.2022 The Shark Cage program will be running at the Ravenswood CFC during Term 4. The program is to support and empower women who have experienced domestic violence. Please contact our staff to register your interest and we will confirm days and times with you depending on the number of participants. We will be happy to talk to you further about the program if you would like to know more. Your confidentiality is very important to us.

19.01.2022 Good morning. This morning Donna and Kelsey are getting ready to 'shake our sillies out' and 'zoom zoom' around the room while we're 'shaking our maracas' and hiding scarves. We hope you can join us at 10am.

16.01.2022 Week 2 of our Community Cooking for Children, facilitated by the wonderful Danielle, was a big success. Lots of children had a taste of the foods they were using, which can be a huge experience for children, and some children even finished off their healthy treats. Lots of new skills, like cutting and chopping and peeling, are being learnt and practised in this program and we are very lucky to have this opportunity. We will have one more cooking session on Friday Dec 11th for this year and will welcome Danielle back in 2021 to continue the program.

14.01.2022 Thanks for joining us for Friday playgroup at the CFC today. We were blessed with beautiful weather and lots of smiling faces and curious learners.

11.01.2022 Our KEY MESSAGE is all about READING. When reading books with children we can bring their attention to the print or words by talking about the size, colour and shape of the font. We can point to the words and count them. What else can you do to bring attention to the words?

11.01.2022 We all need to work on keeping our emotions and behaviours calm and consistent and our children need a little bit more help to be able to learn how to manage this for themselves. Here's some of the basic things children need our support with to manage their big feelings.

10.01.2022 How many of these can you tick off this coming week? What is your child's favourite thing from this list? I know my kids especially benefit from getting out into nature with sunlight, even if they think they don't want it :) One needs lots of cuddles and another doesn't like hugs but thrives on the routines and rituals we have in our house. ~ Donna

08.01.2022 UPDATE!!!! Thank you to everyone who has registered an interest in the Let's Splash program for term 4. Sadly we will not have places for everyone who is interested. We will let families know if we have a place for you by Tuesday 6th October. If you do not live in the Ravenswood CFC area, or your child has had a turn already, sadly we cannot offer you a place in this program. ... There will be future Let's Splash sessions in 2021 so if you have missed out this time, stay tuned for dates early next year. We will keep names on file for those interested. Cheers, Donna (Centre Leader)

06.01.2022 We've already made it to October!! Usually we would post our monthly calendar for October, but this coming school term we are going to do our calendar a little bit differently. We've listened to some feedback about reading the calendar and next week we will share the Term 4 calendar so everyone knows which programs and playgroups are coming up. Stay tuned while we finalise a few details and we look forward to sharing the new calendar next week!

04.01.2022 We are really excited to bring this wonderful opportunity to our families to celebrate during Book Week this year. Alex Morse is a fantastic music workshop facilitator who has worked at a number of CFCs and we are really looking forward to invite her to the Ravenswood CFC on October 22nd. Come prepared for a dance and a sing-a-long. Numbers are very limited for this workshop so please RSVP quickly to avoid disappointment. Edit to add: As per our usual policy, Ravenswood/Waverley zoned families will be given preference as they are in our CFC area. Sorry for any disappointment.

04.01.2022 Its a busy month here at our CFC and we have this FREE session coming up on Friday 11th December to help our little people start learning about what to do in an emergency. Please either comment, message, sms, email or phone us your details to book a session. We need to know: Your name, phone number, the name of the child attending the session and if you need adjunct care (how many children and ages) It will be first in best dressed for bookings and if you miss out we will h...ave other sessions in January before school returns.

03.01.2022 While our regular term programs are not running during the school holidays, you can pop in for a cuppa and a play or come along on Tuesday for music and movement or on Friday for a playgroup session. We ask families to please remember that our space and resources are designed for children from Birth - 5 years old. If you need to attend an appointment with older children, they must remain with you, under supervision of parents/carers at all times. We thank you for respecting the space of our youngest visitors.

02.01.2022 Make time for the important things .... like play!!

01.01.2022 Key Message talk about print. Watch as this little ones plays with the letters (print). This child decided how to play with the letters. The adult in the video was there to support and name the letters when the child was ready.
