14.01.2022 A beautiful sunny day has the flowers and bees out!

12.01.2022 The bees adore the Saffron flowers. In fact its said that the pollen can have a bit of a intoxicating effect and Brian has said he has seen them unable to fly after indulging a bit too much. The bees arent actually required to produce Saffron as the flowers dont need pollinating to be able to harvest the stamens. In fact as cute as they look buzzing around in the flowers they can be a bit of a pain as they can destroy the flowers. Sometimes its a race to see if Brian finds the flowers before the bees in the morning. If he does find a flower with bees inside all he needs to do is gently shake the flower and they come out. No harm is done to bees, flowers or humans! Remember if you want to get your hands on our Saffron it is stocked at Plumes Emporium

03.01.2022 Brian and Kathy Constantine started their Saffron journey in 2003 planting their first lot of corms which they sourced from Tasmania which is known for very high quality Saffron. Their first threads were collected in 2004 and they have been growing and improving ever since. A complete labour of love Brian spends months getting the soil in optimum condition to produce the best Saffron possible.
