If you'd like to receive a letter from Santa you will find there is a bright red letter box just inside the door of the store. Don't forget that Santa really does need a return address on the letter so he won't get confused when replying!!

19.01.2022 OK ... so we are in crazy times at the moment and I haven't posted on this page in a while. I'm letting you all know that the small Businesses in Ravenshoe - including ours - will do all we can to make sure we can provide the services we need to keep this town going. Over the next few weeks Robert and I will be reducing the operating hours on our store so we can make a trip down to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. We were supposed to be going on a "Empty Nester" holiday ne...xt week - one we have been saving and looking forward to for over 12 months - and now have had that dream dashed. So a trip down south - first to take some meat down to my niece as there is none to be had in Brisbane - second to help my oldest make her way back up here until the craziness of living down south has calmed down. The hours are as follows: 30th March Monday 9.00am to 4.00pm 31st March Tuesday 9.00am to 4.00pm 1st April Wednesday 9.00am to 4.00pm 2nd April Thursday 9.00am to 4.00pm 3rd April Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm Saturday 4th April 9.00am to 12.00noon Sunday 5th April Closed papers are all over town 6th April Monday 9.00am to 4.00pm 7th April Tuesday 9.00am to 4.00pm 8th April Wednesday 9.00am to 4.00pm 9th April Thursday 9.00am to 4.00pm 10th April Good Friday No Papers Closed 11th April Sat 9.00am to 12.00noon 12th April Easter Sunday Closed 13th April Easter Monday Closed Cassie - awesome reliable and just awesome - will be holding the fort whilst we are away. Sue will be around to back Cassie up. The Newsagency can be contacted on 4097 6472 ... As with Soul Needs - if you require anything urgently and you are in isolation/quarantine if we can - we will help! Just maybe not for the two weeks above! Stay safe and remember we are a community ... $80 Million on Powerball this week - but if we win - remember there is no where to go!

16.01.2022 Oz Lotto is at $40 Million ... Don't forget to get your ticket ... What would you do? I know what I would do!

16.01.2022 So I pinched this idea from a Facebook post. We have a huge amount of people living in remote/rural areas up here. Quite a few are elderly and quite a few are high risk and are in self isolation. One card is for the window of the house. Green means "I'm OK. Leave me be". Red means "I need something/help". The small cards are for the letterbox. Same theory. If you would like one or both let ravenshoe newsagency know. Free of charge.

10.01.2022 Mega Jackpot is over $68 MILLION! When you buy your chance into Oz Lotto - grab a ticket for $5.50 in the Mega Jackpot ... You never know your luck! Good Luck everyone!

09.01.2022 WE DO NOT KNOW WHERE THE VOTING IS TAKING PLACE. We do know that you "have" to vote.

05.01.2022 Hello everybody ... we hope that your social distancing is not causing any major problems for you. If everyone does this and does it properly we will be able to return to our normal lives (kinda) sooner than later. I'm sure there are people out there - like me - who are now thinking that this social distancing is a good thing. However, this is only going to work if we work with it. This past week in the store I have had mothers turn up with tribes of children. These chi...ldren run around the store and touch everything they can. It is not up to us - the retailer - to tell these kids not to touch. It is not up to us - the retailer - to tell you to keep your kids at home where they are safe. And I'm thinking it really should not be up to us - the retailer - to have to go and disinfect everything that we think the kids have touched. And it certainly is not up to us - the retailer - to keep telling adults to keep their distance. Cassie and I will endeavour to keep the store running for you to purchase your magazines, newspapers and lotto - all we ask is that you keep up the social distancing practices that are advertised everywhere. Please ... if you can keep the kids at home do so - for us and for them. We the retailer, also have families - we have family members that are high risk. We also have customers who are extremely high risk - these customers are going through hell, and they are scared. If we ask you to keep your distance and stay away from someone - we are doing it for a reason. Please do not have a sulk and storm out of the store as we have seen constantly over the last week or so. Don't tell us you are not contagious. How do we know? How do we know who you have been in contact with? Think of others ... because I tell you now there are a number of retailers in this town who would LOVE to stay home with their loved ones and not risk bringing this horrible virus into their home. So on these words ... be aware the Newsagency may be closed one or two afternoons .. this will be because of a stressful day having to ask everyone to keep to the social distancing laws. This is the way that Retailers are thinking. We will endeavour to keep you safe ... so please have a thought for the retailer behind the counter.
