25.01.2022 Creative Recovery Webinar presented by RAV with the wonderful Amanda Gibson - Monday 30 Nov. Amanda's best known for her work on The Blacksmiths’ Tree in Strathewen, which was created in memory of Black Saturday as a symbol of resilience, love, compassion and transformation. She's currently working with the Creative Recovery Network training other artists to facilitate projects in Gippsland. She believes the greatest strength communities have throughout disasters is connectivity. Creative projects are essential to provide environments for people to talk, grieve, plan and sometimes celebrate, often attracting people who wouldn’t otherwise meet. Don't miss it! https://regionalartsvictoria.cmail20.com/t/d-e-cdduydl-jul/
24.01.2022 Fantastic opportunity for 15 young / emerging (13-25yrs) story makers / creators across the Murray-Mallee via the Fairfax Youth Initiative (FYI). For more than two decades, FYI has been working with young people across the north-west, giving voice to the things that matter through creative exchange. Covid scuttled its 2020 plans. The result? They're embracing an online model for now real, local stories, told live by young people - broadcast from the Murray-Mallee to the wo...rld! The FYI mentorship will provide tools and techniques in crafting and delivering truthful, dynamic and engaging stories from lived experience, culminating in a virtual storytelling event live-streamed from the homes of our storytellers to audiences across Australia in February 2021. Expressions of Interest are open now to both current students in the Murray-Mallee and Fairfax alumni who have participated in FYI in previous years. Closes Nov 23. https://www.fairfaxyi.com/

19.01.2022 A little late but wanted to highlight the great work coming out of Swan Hill’s TAFE Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts course. Swan Hill Gallery hosted their highly successful exhibition, featuring local established and emerging artists: Aunty Elsa Kirby, Suzanne Connelly and Stacey Warren to name a few. Shout out to the local Guardian newspaper for its continuing support of arts & cultural stories in the region.

A Migrant’s Son is a true story, exploring migration from Greece to Australia during the 1930s.This extraordinary musical theatre performance conveys incredible historical events that are bought to life through original compositions, creating a unique and touching account that is both hard-hitting and hilarious. Council have partnered with production company Critical Stages and local community member, Angela Hird (supplying yummy themed food hampers) to offer this striking performance as a free virtual screening to Gannawarra residents. https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=674559&
