25.01.2022 Putting out a call to all my friends with architect or draftsperson connections. RAW Africa Ecotours has been contracted to build the first community guest hous...e in the UGADEC community forests in central DRCongo. This is the first step in implementing our tourism strategy for this area. However while I have an idea of a design that will work, I have no idea how to draw it up to allow construction. Any contacts would be greatly appreciated. It's a really exciting project and I'm sure there is someone out there who would love to put their name to this. 20.01.2022 It’s true, we’re heading back to Uganda with the awesome people at The Jane Goodall Institute Australia! If you’ve ever wanted to walk in the footsteps of Dr Jane Goodall, this is your chance. Contact [email protected] or Brooke@Rawafricaecotours for details or to book your spot.

19.01.2022 Visiting the Stele fields of Tiya in central Ethiopia. The stele are tomb markers for warriors from around 1200 AD. The number of swords on the tomb markers indicates how many enemies the warrior killed. Fascinating.

18.01.2022 One of the most memorable and interesting places that we visit on our Uganda journeys. Murchinson Falls National Park. This country moved past the Idi Amin regime decades ago, yet it always surprises me when people ask "is Uganda safe?" . Yes it is.... and it's thriving.

15.01.2022 Love this. In the Tigray region on the north of Ethiopia, every child plants a tree when they start school and its their responsibility to care for that tree until they leave school. The deforestation was so bad in the north that it is illegal to cut any tree in this region. We head back to Ethiopia on Sunday, ready for a new adventure with some amazing people. Our next trip to this incredible part of the world is in Feb 2020.

15.01.2022 Here we go! Heading to Ethiopia, Madagascar, Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Zanzibar and Tanzania over the next few months with some amazing people. Might check out Eritrea and Djibouti on the way. See you all soon. RAW Africa Ecotours

14.01.2022 Well our pilot trip to Ethiopia was extraordinary. Incredible culture, coffee, food, people, history and wildlife. Made all the more special by having my wonderful friends as our guinea pigs. Leanne, Judy, Sian, Wendy, David, Megan and to Sam Clark from Wild Spiritz Photography for being our resident photographer and to my great business partners in Ethiopia, Birhanu and Alex. Our next departure date is late Feb 2020 with 2 spots left. Love to have you join us.

13.01.2022 Ever wanted to walk in the shoes of Jane Goodall? We have just four spots left on our Jane Goodall Institute safari through Uganda in June. Imagine yourself coming face to face with a chimpanzee or a gorilla, walking with the rhinos at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and cruising along the Nile River in search of elephants and hippos at Murchison Falls.... Our 13-day tour will show you why Jane Goodall has spent her life supporting African wildlife. And better still, you’ll be travelling with our Director, Brooke, a passionate wildlife conservationist, who has worked closely with JGI for years. AND you get to help JGI celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dr Goodall’s arrival in Africa to study chimpanzees in the wild. And if that’s not enough, you know you’ll be doing a good thing as all proceeds from the safari will support the work of the Jane Goodall Institute Australia. Contact [email protected] or [email protected] to reserve your spot or to find out more.

07.01.2022 The beautiful colours and scenes of Madagascar...

05.01.2022 And we’re off. What a way to start 2020... with a tour through Madagascar!

05.01.2022 The Bale Mountains are home to Africa's rarest canine, the Ethiopian Wolf. Join us in Feb or April on a 15 day journey through this incredible country. [email protected]

03.01.2022 As RAW Africa Ecotours, we love exploring places that are a bit off the beaten track, authentic and eye opening. Ethiopia is starting to open up to tourism and we've put together a trip that we think visits some of the extraordinary parts of this country. Only 3 spots left on our Ethiopia Unearthed journey in Feb.

02.01.2022 Here we go on our Ethiopia Unearthed Journey with some of my favourite tour buddies. Our 1st day started with the Shola Market, which is the 2nd largest market in Ethiopia. The market is divided into different sections, coffee, spices, incense, cloth. We then headed to the home of Janet, one of the remarkable guides we use in Addis, for an Ethiopian cooking lesson and coffee ceremony. Amazing day with amazing people. Thanks to Sam Clark for joining us on the trip to take all our photos. I'll be posting the professional ones soon.
