23.01.2022 Ah...memories! A few people have been asking about classes and the answer is YES, we will get back to it but - eeek really not while we have to wear masks indoors! I can’t imagine teaching for 4 hours (technically you guys wouldn’t need to wear them though) I suppose if I just kept eating the whole time that might work... Anyway, looking at February and if you’d like a voucher for Christmas with deferred payment till February (when we have a confirmed schedule) then drop us a line and we’ll sort you!

23.01.2022 One of the best books I’ve ever read is Jonathan Safran- Foer’s ‘Eating Animals’ and this is essentially it, in movie form. It looks pragmatically at animal raising methods rather than just going directly down the ‘don’t eat meat’ route. There’s a great deal of thought put into it, and the methods of yesteryear compared to today. It’s very easy to turn off a documentary that questions your choices, but this gives a rare insight that doesn’t make you feel preached at. Yes it also -gasp- looks at plant based eating! Sometimes we just need to be prepared to take down our walls and understand the things we do -simply because they’re what we’ve always done.

16.01.2022 Sigh. The realities start to bite. Today’s class cancelled, next week’s class cancelled. I feel confident it won’t be long before we have another crack. In the meantime, I shared the Fig Mascarpone Tart we made for today. It has slow dehydrated rich fig jam on the crust, a mascarpone cream featuring white miso and nutritional yeast, and fresh figs (from my tree!) drizzled with Maple Syrup. One of my favourite ones to teach!

11.01.2022 Wow! Thanks @gtmagazine for a wonderful article. Thank you Olivia! She recorded our interview but I talk at about 300 miles an hour! Still, she got all the important bits, and so nice to be able to plug the new business at this tricky time. Pete also did a great job as usual on the photography! 10.01.2022 Are our days numbered? I hope not! I’m only riding from home but I do go a fair way from it...Such a good day. A (very) refreshing swim in the bay at dawn, a lovely morning talking to customers and filling them with Hot Cross Buns and a super ride in the warm afternoon breeze. And now, after being alcohol free all week, I’m pouring myself into a Chardonnay!
