24.01.2022 Love the idea of a food forest doughnut. And it makes perfect sense! The principles of permaculture are truely simple and so effective

24.01.2022 I love my Tuesdays at RAW Garden, and I especially love the volunteers who keep it running so well. Always an inspiration!

23.01.2022 Who's planted Elderberry this Spring? This gorgeous healing herb grows easily in full sun or part shade and in most soil types. And you'll be rewarded with berries toward the end of Summer. A great herb to combat a virus, cold/flu, soothe a fever and manage other symptoms of illness. ... And packed full of antioxidants, the berries make a fantastic Jam or syrup!

23.01.2022 Heal yourself with nature.

23.01.2022 Calendula is wonderful in the garden as a companion plant for attracting good bugs. And it has so many healing properties. In topical preparations Calendula is anti inflammatory, anti oxidant, anti fungal and promotes wound/skin healing. Calendula oil is made by infusing the flowers in a carrier oil (such as olive oil or coconut oil). The oil can be used on its own or as an ingredient in ointments, balms, creams, or lotions.... Calendula tea is a favourite of mine for digestion and inflammation. And it is such a beautiful flower that self seeds easily!

05.01.2022 Have you heard of Sheet Mulching? Turn a barren patch of soil into a permaculture paradise, by starting from the ground up. Sheet mulching is an easy way to start. You start with a biodegradable weed barrier like cardboard, and from there build a thick, layered substrate for your garden with compost and mulch. As the materials break down, worms move in, softening the soil below, and creating a healthy, aerated planting bed where once there was compacted, dead clay.
