19.01.2022 Sadly, India ranks number one in the world reporting the incidence of #leprosy. 120,000 in 2018 weere diagnosed which is approximately 60% of worlds reported cases. More important, there is a large (cumulative) number of people affected by leprosy living with related disability and health problems (mainly ulcers) who need ongoing medical care and rehabilitation, adding to the country’s ‘burden’. Incidence of leprosy is present all over the country; The states which have higher incidence rate are uttar pradesh, delhi, odisha, bihar, punjab, jharkhand, chhattisgarh, tamil nadu, mizoram and arunachal pradesh. We are making a small difference and with your support we can continue to expand our reach.

15.01.2022 COVID-19 has negatively affected these peoples’ livelihoods and loss of household income and the inability to afford food and meet basic needs. During the COVID-19 lockdown period, households had only one meal per day or only restricted to kids. Sometimes the whole family spent the day without food. As a result, they are selling livelihoods or borrowing money at high rates to purchase food items, causing unmanageable debt. They are unable to continue their existing liveliho...od, they could not engage any alternate livelihood due to the lockdown. Harcourts Rouse Hill/Kellyville and Vanni Rehabilitation joined together to provide dry ration food packs containing rice, flour, dhal salt, tea, sugar, etc. We are confident that we could alleviate the significant food stress among the affected populations. We are pleased to advise the members that the project was completed successfully and provided: 286 Female-headed households living in Ananthapuram, Iranapalai Puthukudiyiruppu 629 families displaced and resettled in cleared jungles in Katkulam, Vavuniya. The project cost was AUD 12,000 See more

13.01.2022 The #dialysis process is an ongoing long term continual process, the poor and needy, and the less affordable people are unable to go to other major cities like ...#Vishakapatnam, #Bhubaneswar, and so forth. This has necessitated the need for establishing up to date dialysis units and providing dialysis, both at free of cost and an affordable price as per the need. #Rotarians from #Rotary clubs of Midtown Bhadrak and The Hills-Kellyville partnered together to help in establishing additional Dialysis facilities to meet the increasing demand for Dialysis due to the increase in the number of patients with End-Stage Renal Disease. This will enable in gapping the difference between Demand vs. Availability. The global grant application was approved by The Rotary Foundation in the amount of AUD 81,000. See more

07.01.2022 https://events.humanitix.com/eat-a-meal-save-a-childs-life When Rotary International launched PolioPlus in 1985, more than 125 countries were still polio-endem...ic, and at least a thousand children were paralyzed every day - United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Rotary Convention in 2009. Rotary has been responsible for the immunization of over 2 billion children worldwide. With Rotary’s work providing the catalyst for the establishment of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in 1988, Rotary’s work alongside UNICEF, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and partners like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has led a campaign providing a total of more than 10 billion doses of the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) worldwide. As a consequence of these efforts, annual diagnosed cases of polio have declined by over 99.9%, with just 104 cases recorded to-date in 2020 and only two countries remaining polio-endemic - Afghanistan and Pakistan. A polio-free world is possible, but we can achieve it only by taking action together.
