21.01.2022 Knowing what’s wrong leads to things being right. Today I maxed out on my 3 rep set for 160KG but not entirely happy with the slight leaning forward action on the pull up. I could have easily increased the weight but simultaneously decrease my form. The best thing to do is accept it, know this is where Im at and work on it. However, I find days are the most important group to warm up not only its primary muscle motors but other components that we use when moving. 13.01.2022 Have you had your protein intake yet? Do you know how much protein you should be having? Do you know when you should have your protein? These are great things to learn and become master at if you’re looking to build mass and strength. You should be aiming to have 1.8 - 2.2 grams of protein per Kg of body weight. So if you weigh 70kg, you should be aiming for 140grams of protein a day to sustain and build mass. There’s also a big debate on when you should eat your protein.... The traditional view is 3 hours apart to support consistent protein synthesis, but new studies also show that eating protein at indifferent times and amounts also has the same effect. Thankfully we have had a brief lockdown and I hope you have made some new goals to attack in the gym but here are a few things to remind ourselves that we tend to forget when we are striving to get there . 1 : most of your muscle growth is actually indicative of what you do post workout. Make sure that you take as much diligence in what you do to your body (sleep, nutrition, stretch) as you do with your worko...uts ! You can’t just build a house with bricks, you need the cement! 2 : if you’re looking to strengthen and create a great core, compound lifts are what you should be focusing on. These are lifts that require your core to engage/brave to perform effectively and safely, also in turn helping with your day to day performance and use of your core without even knowing it . 3 : IF YOU GAIN MORE MUSCLE, YOU NEED TO EAT MORE FOOD yes it’s true, if you’re getting stronger and gaining muscle it’s time to up the food!
