15.01.2022 The Raw Shakespeare Project would like to state it opposes any planned and projected cuts to the Flinders University Drama Centre. To those who would curtail this marvellous institution we say: Thou art a boil, a plague-sore; unfit for any place but hell; a poisonous, bunch-back’d toad; a scullion; a rampallion; a fustilarian; would thou wert clean enough to spit upon; and frankly, villain, I have done thy mother.

10.01.2022 Merrie birthdae to thee, Merrie birthdae to thee, Merrie birthdae Master William, Merrie birthdae to thee.

07.01.2022 Few people are aware Shakespeare believed in reincarnation. However recent researches here at the Raw Shakespeare Institute For Finding Stuff (RSI FFS) have determined this from several sources, including the famous line from Hamlet’s solilloquy: Aye, there’s the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled from this mortal coil, must give men paws.

05.01.2022 Hard to believe this show was five years ago. Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy was great fun as we followed the adventures of Rosalind and Celia, the Duke and Jacques, and Touchstone and Audrey.

01.01.2022 Thrice the brinded cat hath mewed, Thrice and once hedge-pig did whine, ‘Tis time, ‘tis time. Fillet of a fenny snake, In the cauldron boil and bake,... Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Cool it with a baboon’s blood, Then our charm is firm and good, To my choir, demons, flock, And set the time on my microwave clock. 01.01.2022 Friends, It is with great sadness I report that the most upstanding member of our cast of ‘Comedy Of Errors’, the Door, has passed away and been laid to rest in the hard rubbish. Best remembered as a solid if slightly wooden member of the cast, the Door’s great strength lay in its (mostly) upright presence on stage. Alas, the door latched onto that one role and the dreams it opened up. Starring roles in ‘The Postman Always Knocks Twice’ and ‘Behind The Green Door’ followed bu...t, after being slammed by critics the Door became unhinged. The Door languished for many years in the sad gravelly patch out the back until it was dismantled this morning and laid to rest in a quiet, dignified ceremony. I would like to reassure people in this difficult time by reminding them of the old saying that ‘as one door closes, another opens’. If anyone would like to share their memories of the Door below it may help with closure. Floral tributes will be accepted if in ajar. See more
