07.01.2022 What are the key elements of success in sport? Talent, discipline and mindset. Talent is only a small portion of what is needed to succeed in sport. Raw talent is an important component...however, it is often the discipline of the daily grind of training, and self-belief that separates the ones who reach top level in sport, and the ones who don't. Not everyone who has the talent wants to go all the way, and that's okay. Some just like the fun of playing with their mates on th...e weekend, and that's cool. The ones who do want to go all the way, need to work on their mindset, as much as they need to work on the physical aspects of training. The knock-downs, rejection, and daily grind is a very real aspect of sport. Reminding yourself of the who you are and what you are, and why you are putting yourself through the daily grind, helps you establish your goals and stick to the pathway of getting there. Sport often coaches the talent out of the player. What does this mean? It means players are urged to follow the game plan on such a strict format, they forget to go out and have some fun. They are so worried about making a mistake, they don't try something for fear of looking silly if it doesn't pay off. But the dazzling players are the ones who have that element of self-belief. For some it comes naturally. For others they have to train damn hard to get there. The ones who humble themselves to keep learning and perfecting their craft. The kickers who stay behind and kick until they get the sweet spot, and they get more than they miss. The ones who wouldn't accept they had 'bad hands', but they practiced until they had confidence in those hands. RAWS Sportsmanship not only develops the raw talent...we use a holistic approach of building mindsets, self-belief, confidence, and emotional intelligence; as much a building muscle, speed, fitness, wellness, and endurance. #rawssportsmanship See more
