Thanks for all you do but also thanks to your family for supporting their commitment to our community, we recognise the children’s party’s that get ruined, the dance concerts that get missed. For people in Maitland/Cessnock, Gosford/Wyong and parts of Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury and Greater Newcastle areas. Issued at 7:50 pm Tuesday, 1 December 2020. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FORECAST, DAMAGING WIND AND LARGE HAILSTONES LIKELY The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:50 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Gosford, Woy Woy and Calga. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to northeast. They are forecast to affect Wyong, Wollombi and Tuggerah by 8:20 pm and Maitland, Belmont and Cessnock by 8:50 pm. During this time, any person wishing to light an open fire to burn vegetation (i.e pile burns etc) in the Port Stephens Local Government Area will require a permit. For permit information, or if you are in any doubt about permit requirements for fires please call 4015 0000 during business hours. ... On days of Total Fire Ban, All Permits for Burning in the Open are automatically revoked. 04.01.2022 UPDATE 0930: More lanes are open and crews are leaving the scene. Expect delays as the heavy vehicle recovery takes place later today. Pacific Highway northbound is down to one lane as crews clear the road after a truck rollover. Between Bucketts Way and Tarean Rd Take care around crews working on the road.

04.01.2022 Crews are currently on scene at a small fire in Millers Forest. The fire is a small pile burn. Just a reminder that if you are going to burn green waste that you need to ensure that the following requirements are met, Only dry vegetation that originated from the property can be burnt. Open fires must be supervised at all times. ... Only burn when conditions are predicted to be calm. 04.01.2022 Raymond Terrace crews are on scene mopping up a small scrub fire on the Pacific Hwy just south of the weigh station. Crews from Raymond Terrace Fire & Rescue and Medowie Rural Fire Brigade are also on scene. If traveling please slow down if safe and watch for crews on the ground.
