24.01.2022 :: Chapati :: 140g wholemeal flour 140g plain flour, plus extra for dusting 1 tsp salt... 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for greasing 180ml hot water or as needed STEP 1 In a large bowl, stir together the flours and salt. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the olive oil and enough water to make a soft dough that is elastic but not sticky. STEP 2 Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-10 mins until it is smooth. Divide into 10 pieces, or less if you want bigger breads. Roll each piece into a ball. Let rest for a few mins. STEP 3 Heat a frying pan over medium heat until hot, and grease lightly. On a lightly floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out the balls of dough until very thin like a tortilla. STEP 4 When the pan starts smoking, put a chapati on it. Cook until the underside has brown spots, about 30 seconds, then flip and cook on the other side. Put on a plate and keep warm while you cook the rest of the chapatis. 07.01.2022 :: Sangha :: Used it to describe this growing group of practitioners who gather together to practice, remember, listen, speak, move, breathe, and sit. Sangha is used in many traditions to denote the community of people devoted to the spiritual search. The term sangha has roots in Buddhism and often points toward monks and nuns who are committed to the advancement of enlightenment and liberation (both sound fantastic ...to me).. Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist, has described sangha as a beloved community. Sangha is a togetherness that can help remind us of the power of connectivity and discipline amidst the impermanence of this solitary path. Someone asked the Buddha which is the most important, the most necessary ~ the teacher, the teachings, or the Sangha (the community of spiritual friends). Which one, they asked, is the deal-breaker, the one we can’t go without if we want to wake up in this life. You know what he answered?.. Sangha. "Because we may walk this path alone and yet we can’t walk this path alone. Or maybe we can, but we sure won’t make it very far." Today we are sending our love and gratitude for this expanding Sangha we hold deep within our heart. May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may my thoughts, words and actions contribute to that happiness, freedom and liberation for all. May you remember your true essence time and time again See more

03.01.2022 :: Supporting women :: "Women's health services say the demand for support is soaring.. There've been plenty of warnings about the acute mental health crisis that's already unfolding during the coronavirus pandemic.... Now women's health services say demand for psychological support is soaring, with anxiety, financial stress, family violence and thoughts of self-harm increasing. And with services stretched, they're worried that some people might not get the help they need." Article by Sarah Sedghi A cause close to our heart..we invite you to join us for an evening of Kirtan to help raise funds for the Women's Trauma Recovery Centre in Wollongong. If you are unable to join us, you can still donate via the link in our bio. We are so grateful for your presence and your support on this platform. Om! Image credit: Women's Trauma Centre See more

01.01.2022 :: Vstu stra :: Vstu stra is a Sanskrit term that translates to the science of architecture". or "the art of aligning our space." It incorporates many architectural design ideas, such as space, arrangement, layout and measurements. The sages of India sought to ritualise their lives, to bring awareness and value into their practice and life. Vstu is considered as one of the four main Vedic sciences along with Yoga..., Ayurveda and Astrology. Specifically, Vstu is based on the Vedic idea that harmony within and without comes from observing the proper relationship with every space one inhabits. By practising yoga, we too seek to improve our vstu ~ the proper alignment of our bodies, which are the dwelling places of the soul. Perhaps it's not necessary but, it is a form of devotion.. just as we cleanse or adorn ourselves before visiting a temple or sacred site. Vstu promotes spaces that make you feel good, and it's often accompanied by sensations that are difficult to express with man-made words, like the energy you feel when you enter a sacred space. I invite you to create a space in which you feel more centred within, supports your spiritual practice, makes you feel inspired and in alignment with who you are and what you love. See more

01.01.2022 2021 goals .. Climb more mountains at dawn.. Active Hope is not wishful thinking. Active Hope is not waiting to be rescued . . . by some savior.... Active Hope is waking up to the beauty of life on whose behalf we can act. We belong to this world. The web of life is calling us forth at this time. We’ve come a long way and are here to play our part. With Active Hope we realize that there are adventures in store, strengths to discover, and comrades to link arms with. Active Hope is a readiness to discover the strengths in ourselves and in others; a readiness to discover the reasons for hope and the occasions for love. A readiness to discover the size and strength of our hearts, our quickness of mind, our steadiness of purpose, our own authority, our love for life, the liveliness of our curiosity, the unsuspected deep well of patience and diligence, the keenness of our senses, and our capacity to lead. None of these can be discovered in an armchair or without risk.
