Effective from Monday, April 27; - Indoor and outdoor non-work gatherings relaxed t...o a max of 10 people - People allowed to leave their homes for non-contact activities such as fishing, boating, hiking and camping - Wedding attendance increased from 5 to 10 people. - Outdoor personal training allowed, restricted to a group of 10 people - Home opens permitted - Restaurants and cafs to remain on takeaway only - Public playgrounds will remain closed as they cant be cleaned regularly - Funeral attendance remains at 10 people max, but exemptions can be applied for - Regional travel restrictions remain in place There were ZERO new cases in WA overnight. 13.01.2022 HEDLAND BUYBACK DETAILS UNVEILED The WA Government has unveiled details of the $200 million industry-funded buy-back for Port Hedlands dust affected West... End, although the final funding arrangements are yet to be settled. It will be administered by the Pilbara Ports Authority, with a levy arrangement likely, and the properties will become State Government property. Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan accepted the deal offered wouldnt suit everyone but says the announcement offers some certainty for the West Ends 400 home owners. "I think that a very strong percentage of these are residential properties and we would expect a fairly high percentage of those to take advantage of this scheme," she says. Residential property owners will be offered a premium of 35 per cent on top of the indexed value of their property as at August 6 last year, when the scheme was first proposed. There will also be up to $20,000 for verifiable transaction costs. Many owners have lobbied for an "unaffected value" sale price. Minister MacTiernan said this was not an option, because the history of the town over the past 60 to 70 years has been closely linked with industry.

08.01.2022 #BREAKING: GOVT EXTENDS COVID-19 RESIDENTIAL RENTAL LAWS The WA Government has extended the moratorium on rent increases until March 28 next year. The governmen...t says the emergency residential tenancy laws are helping those in private and public housing, residential long-stay parks as well as boarders and lodgers, stay in their rental homes. It has also launched a new Consumer Protection Landlord Hotline, to answer landlords questions. "WA is entering a period of economic recovery, however with the threat of COVID-19 and a second wave still real, extending the rent moratorium protects WA renters and landlords, and helps create stability for everyone," WA Commerce Minister John Quigley says. "For residential tenancies, low vacancy rates for rental properties have, and will continue to force rents to rise, and this together with the current unemployment rate, as well as changes to JobKeeper, means families may find themselves in financial hardship. "Those who have been able to return to work are only just starting to recover. To add difficulties in finding rental accommodation or not being able to afford rent to their worries would be an awful proposition."
