25.01.2022 Another successful Bucket build complete, This Hitachi EX2500 Bucket was built tough and ready for action

25.01.2022 Razorback and WA This month we had to completely build 2 new ocean floor dredging Vacuum Impellers for a local dredging company that required the Impellers to be designed to suit a job specific purpose. The client required us to replicate part of the existing damaged Impeller whilst reducing the number of blades from 5 down to a 4 blade arrangement to improve their efficiency. They requested the blades to be made from a hard wearing material to withstand the highly abrasive ...conditions they would be required to work in and they had to be machined and balanced on completion as they will be operating at speeds of 500-RPM. The Impellers are now successfully in service and all the reports coming from the client have been very positive. We stride to provide quality equipment to our clients to ensure that our state continues to run smoothly. This was a great project from the Razorback team as it proved to be a great little challenge for the guys on the floor.

25.01.2022 Komatsu D575 Idler Rebuild Razorback Construction have just completed another Idler rebuild, this time its for a Komatsu D575 Dozer, which is known to be one of the largest Dozers in the world. It was in bad shape when it was received at Razorback due to the nature of the environment it has been working in but it wasnt long before we had it cleaned up, MPI Inspected and prepped so it could be repaired and installed into our semi-automatic Submerged Arc Welding Rotator for t...he rebuilding process, there we installed the run off bands to the sides ready for the preheating. Once it was pre-heated we proceeded to rebuild the 5 badly worn surfaces to their required size, then there was another hard facing process to bring the Idler up to the completed size ready for the machining process, following on from the welding we gave it the required post heating and then the Idler was put though its slow cooling process prior to machining. The final machining process went underway without a glitch trimming off the welded surfaces bringing the Idler back to the its specified dimensions, as always its satisfying to see the completed product come off the machine knowing the condition the Idler was in when it originally arrived, it then went into the paint shop for its surface treatment followed by its delivery back to the client. Its always satisfying to see repair work leave the workshop in new condition and the look on the clients face when they are delivered.

22.01.2022 Last year the staff at Razorback took part in the Anzac Day Driveway Service to commemorate the spirit and sacrifice of the Australian New Zealand servicemen and women who served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, this year we would like to encourage our customers, clients, friends, and family to also participate in the Driveway service to honor the fallen, wounded and all those who served for our country. The ANZAC’s landed at Gallipoli 106 years ago, after 8 long months the allied forces were evacuated from the peninsular, both sides had suffered severe casualties and endured great hardships. Anzac Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on the experiences and sacrifices the ANZAC troops made.

22.01.2022 Following the earlier announcement of our newest apprentice we are would like to congratulate Caleb on officially becoming a boilermaker tradesman. Caleb is a highly skilled and motivated young man who came to Razorback with an already impressive skillset and attitude with his teen years spent completing a number of fabrication projects while still at school. Caleb quickly developed into a high level apprentice who has consistently completed tradesman quality work throughout ...the final 2 years of his apprenticeship and we are pleased to announce that Caleb was offered a reduction in the term of his apprenticeship to allow him to take up a role as Razorback's newest tradesman. It's been a pleasure watching him develop into the fine young man he is today and excited about the value he will add to our workshop and leadership team for years to come See more

22.01.2022 This week Razorback Construction signed up another apprentice boilermaker (Wez Makay) Wez came to us about 3 months ago eagerly ringing reception and asking if it was possible for him to speak to a person that may be able to assist him in joining our team and working towards achieving a boilermaker apprenticeship with us. Over the past 3 months Wez has been taking on challenges in the workshop that has shown our supervisors that he is very confident and capable of taking on tasks that we normally wouldnt give to a person that has been in the trade for such a short amount of time. We feel that Wez will prove to be a top level tradesman due to his dedication and confidence in this field, we look back now and thank him for his determination in chasing us down. Congratulations Wez, we all appreciate you being a part of the Razorback Team.

12.01.2022 Razorback Construction Supporting Alcohol Awareness As the social restrictions start to ease and as a business committed to improving our community in Perth, we want to remind our community to practice safe consumption of alcohol. Some people may still be experiencing increased stress and anxiety caused by COVID-19, we need to encourage our community to resist using alcohol as a short-term fix and remind them to reach out and support one another if they are struggling. As we... have now entered winter the risk of our community members falling sick rises and irresponsible drinking habits increases the risk of respiratory failure, which is one of the main complications of COVID-19. We need to be extra cautious while consuming alcohol this year to eliminate the risk of spreading the virus. As the temperature starts to drop your immune systems response might become affected which can make you vulnerable to colds or flus. Alcohol consumption is associated with a range of infectious and non-infectious diseases as well as mental health disorders, which can make a person more vulnerable to COVID-19. Alcohol can trigger inflammation in the gut and destroy the microorganisms that live in the intestine and maintain the immune systems health, putting you at risk of illness or infection. It can also directly impact the immune cells that protect the lungs which can damage lung tissue, leading to a chronic weakening of lung function. Aiming to have at least two consecutive alcohol-free days will decrease your risk of alcohol affecting your immune system. Now that we have the freedom of being out and about, we can slowly continue to get back to our daily lives before COVID-19. For some people this will mean spending time out drinking with friends and family. It is important to remember that if you choose to drink, then do so in moderation, this will ensure the safety of yourself and others around you. Remember to eat at least a fist full of food before going out and having a glass of water in between drinks will prevent you from getting dehydrated. It is important to remember to stick to the hygiene guidelines when youre on an night out, we are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to start getting back to normal and we want to ensure that we stay on the right path and eliminate any possibility of another wave. Dont forget to check in with your friends and family, together we can keep each other safe and healthy. Mining Equipment Repair WA Razorback Construction is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff and clients particularly in the mining sector, a pillar of the WA economy. If you or any of your loved ones are struggling with alcohol please call Lifeline on 13 11 14

08.01.2022 Razorback Construction and Influenza This week Razorback Construction organised a Health Practitioner to come out to our workplace and vaccinate our employees against influenza. As we are currently dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic we thought we should take extra measures this year to keep our workplace environment safe. Influenza (the flu) is a highly contagious disease, usually prevented by vaccination and treated by managing symptoms. It is spread by contact of body flui...ds from infected people and has an incubation period of 1 to 3 days. During winter the flu is the most common cause of sickness and time away from work. Symptoms include fever, headache, body aches, fatigue and respiratory symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat and cough. "The flu" caused by the influenza virus produces these symptoms but on a far more intense and prolonged scale high fevers, intense headache, muscle pain, fatigue of the whole body and symptoms that last for several days or weeks. We want to encourage people to get the flu vaccination this year to help protect our community. The elderly, people with poor immune systems and those with pre-existing respiratory/heart conditions or diabetes are at higher risk of contracting the flu. Different strains of the influenza virus emerge each year, so it is important to renew your vaccination annually to ensure you are protected against the latest strain of the virus.
