25.01.2022 Another great love story to celebrate Pride month. "In 1994, after 5 years together, we wanted to get ‘married’ and have a family. On 27 August 1994 we celebrated our love with a non-legal binding commitment ceremony in front of friends and family with the usual wedding fanfare. When it became legal for us to marry, we knew we wanted to, and to marry on the same date as our commitment ceremony (our ‘wedding’ anniversary).... On our 25th wedding anniversary we ‘renewed our vows’ legally this time! We nicknamed it our ‘weddiversary’ to recognise both special occasions. It was a beautiful day and it is wonderful to finally have that coveted piece of paper saying we are finally Mrs and Mrs. Pettina and Melissa @lightsmithimages #brisbaneregistry Brisbane Pride Festival www.brisbanepride.org.au

22.01.2022 It’s Brisbane Pride Month, and to celebrate, we’re sharing love stories of same-sex couples who have recently married at the registry. Here’s what Holly and Jess had to say about their special day: "October 3rd is the anniversary of us first officially dating so we were thrilled to also have this as our wedding anniversary!... It was so special to share our day with family and friends safely - 2020 has been tough and for many of our guests our wedding was the first big event on the calendar since lockdown. We were so happy to simply be surrounded by our nearest and dearest. Holly's mum Christine is a very talented seamstress - she made both of our dresses entirely from scratch and they were absolutely stunning. @Lightsmithimages #brisbaneregistry Brisbane Pride Festival www.brisbanepride.org.au
