23.01.2022 Hello baby .. This time of year for me is spent juggling my trimming and rehab clients and some part time foal watch.. Would love any feed back on some things you might like to see on my page..

22.01.2022 In many parts of Victoria we have seen an extended dry summer with temps still reaching into the 30's and no real rain since December. As a result, our pasture...s are short and overgrazed and therefore stressed and high in sugars. Some at risk horses/ponies have succumbed to laminitis from grazing these pastures however many may also be doing ok due to the fact there is little volume to it so they need to be moving a lot more to find food. However the autumn break is not too far away - it has to rain eventually - and when it does, very quickly, in less than 24 hours, we will have a mixture of dry stressed stubble and little green candy shoots coming through which will be like rocket fuel to those horses/ponies susceptible to laminitis and even those who have never had it before so its time to prepare for this now - be proactive and remove horses from pasture as soon as the rain comes. Autumn is also a time when cushings horses are most vulnerable. In addition, I have been hearing reports of horses getting laminitis even though they are living on dirt largely due to the fact that their hay has been cut while stressed and therefore higher in sugars than expected. If in doubt, soak hay for those most vulnerable to laminitis. Its a really tricky season so keep a close eye out for early symptoms, learn to check for heat and pulses so you can pick up early symptoms of laminitis. Prevention is far easier than cure. See more

06.01.2022 Seeing my clients succeed is a high for me too.. This little pony is a superstar but very high maintenance. Suffering from regular founder scares, kept on a strict diet and excerise regime, he is very well managed by his owners and trimmed on a strict and regular schedule. Very proud of him and his little jockey. Go team
