23.01.2022 CHILL'E Dj Chill-E, one of the coolest men on the planet, has been collecting records since the age of 13. Early influences include Parliament, Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix & Miles Davies, and whilst living in Melbourne playing in several percussion bands exploring global rhythms from Africa, South America & Cuba. Moving to the Tropical North Australian paradise of Cairns in 1983 has proved to be one of the main inspirations in his musical career, and it is this area where he... has set up home and made the progression from live percussionist at outdoor parties (such as Rhythmajik Kulture, Shockwave, and the original beach parties) to one of Cairns's finest Dj's. Dj Chill-E is everyone's friend on the dance scene and has continued to unify clubbers from all scenes on the dancefloor with his Mackie soundsystem & love of all things funky - dub, electro, psy trance, tribal, deep house, techno, breakbeats, trance - and is always booked to Dj at most of Northern Australia's large events such as Dreamscape, White Party & Earthdance Cairns. 22.01.2022 I was asked to watch a documentary called White Privilege by Chelsea Handler,.Reefbeat is everything the opposite of such ., Whilst TV stations changed or edited our live interviews, I can tell you first hand , we are First Nations proud ,we don’t pretend or talk smack , my stance is proud , and my whanau and all our fans know that culture is a huge part of our journey. Heads held high and raising the flag for all culture is righteous.Next year it will be bigger , more pow...erful and those people who experienced the emotion and power of this movement will understand where we are coming from.Media create this white privilege , I know because I was asked to tone down my support for First Nations music and asked to have a re edit on the day.No way my balas ,we are the new bringing back the old ways , I do not need a bunch of happy white people celebrated on TV showing how cool ReefBeat was. Debbie Powell (Dj Debrey - Propa Promotions/Wittika Net) and Dwayne Banham (Endure/PlayerOne/Spherism - X7M/Weapon/NoQualms). 18.01.2022 Ok firstly a very happy new year ! , For a lot of us 2019 was a year to put behind us..My own personal journey has been tumultuous as many of you know. That aside it has given me an opportunity of turning my circumstances into offering help for people in far more dire circumstances.This is not a sanctimonious offer and it’s sincerity is strictly for those affected. If any of you have families , loved ones displaced by the fires due to loss of home or forced out due to threat ..., I can house 3 families for a month. Firstly respect the land in which we gather, that means thinking about respecting others, looking after each other and embracing all cultures and sexual orientation. Next bring your own keep cup and or stubbie cooler, we did not need to mass produce more for our own benefit. This also means strictly NO GLASS, only metal or non single use flasks. They also will be checked before entry so expect to have them looked at for contents by securit...y. We want you to leave with your items also, this is also respect for the land. Sunscreen, a hat and please familiarise yourself with water stations. It will be a warm one and we want you all the way till the end!! Meet people, engage with artists and cultures alike, for tomorrow we are all on the same team. Lets celebrate the day. Educate ourselves with the projects our reef partners are doing and for all else have a great unique experience with amazing people all in the middle of our beautiful city! X

15.01.2022 SKIPPY UK-born Todd "Skippy" Skipper made his mark on Australia upon relocating to Adelaide in 2005, where he held residencies in the city's largest clubs HQ and Red Square, alongside underground icons Sugar, Electric Circus and Cuckoo. An accomplished radio DJ, Todd founded one of Australia's longest running dubstep and bass music radio shows - The Bassbin on Fresh 92.7 - as well as recording DJ mixes for Nova 919 and founding internet TV/radio station Soundpond.net... Todd relocated to Cairns in 2016, where he currently holds residencies at Gilligans, Salt House, P.J. O'Brien's and Pier Bar. 13.01.2022 Hi all , thanks for the love but let’s take it further , if you have a room ,a holiday apartment , or any space you can offer the families with their dignity at first and foremost, offer it up and now .We are not looking for cash donations !!, Use your own forums to reach out , we are here if you need some support so just PM. You might know tour operators that can offer families a reef trip or alike , it may be a voucher or meal offer , you might have a space they can bring... pets , it’s all our collective challenge to get these people out of evac centres , school halls , etc .. Talk to your family , your friends and create space. We are the mighty far North and it’s needed now!! I want you all to imagine your Christmas , New Year with everything you have completely gone , your family is in complete distress with others all suffering the same hurt all bundled together. Really ask yourself how would you cope or feel.? This is Gimuy Yidniji land here and it’s kindness has been here for thousands of years. I appreciate all the offers of help , but it’s these distraught families that need it not us. This isn’t a phase and they’ll get over it moment , and it’s not going away any time soon., Us aside if you can reach out , do it !!! Kindness is King.
