25.01.2022 This is the one. My first race win. Got past Dean Rice into the carousel, and then on the full restart, did it again. Warwick Douglas was pushing me all the way, which must have helped, as I posted a personal best of 60.98. Thanks to Kevin Robinson and Dominic for pit-crewing, and to BM Racing Developments for their help.

24.01.2022 No more fogging up in the rain, or sweltering in pit lane :)

22.01.2022 Nice new view from the office chair...

21.01.2022 So thats it. A PB finally, and a decent chunk off as well. Thanks to Kevin Robinson for the advice and the help.

20.01.2022 So, the weekends racing at the QR Ipswich Festival is done and this time the results were much better. The fuel issues from the last meeting have been sorted, and the engine ran flawlessly all weekend. Despite an air leak in the brake booster, which meant unboosted brakes all weekend, we qualified in 5th in Group B (21st overall). We started Race One pretty well, overtaking 3 or 4 cars in the first lap, however things didnt pan out when the throttle cable snapped entering... Turn 6 on Lap 2. Luckily I was able to peel off into the pits straight away, but without a spare on hand we thought we might be done. After some gymnastics inside the car, we got the old one out, and thanks to Justin and Bread from BMWreckers we were able to liberate one from a car back at their Acacia Ridge yard. Unfortunately we didnt get back in time and so missed Race 2. Race Three on Sunday morning saw a Rear of Grid start, where we got through some of the back markers pretty well, and then had a good tussle with Peter Jollys E30, and then Tony Vaughans Commodore. We eventually got past, and finished 8th in Group B (18th overall). Changing tyres for Race Four showed up some serious cracks in the front rotors, and after some calls to local outlets, we found none available. In steps Team Member Warwick Prince, offering the front rotors off his Z3. With a quick swap we were ready to go. Race Four was simply brilliant. Sitting behind a great battle between Leon Kemps E36 and Gary Angers Commodore, I eventually threaded my way past and headed off after Stuart Walkers Commodore. I couldnt quite get there, and over the closing laps Leon was coming back at me pretty hard. I held on for a 5th in Group B finish (13th overall), setting a new personal best during the race, with Five of the laps under my previous PB. When I got back in we decided to let the car cool before swapping the rotors back and so went to have lunch unfortunately missing the trophy presentation where the teams efforts were rewarded with the Bendix Brakes Hard Charger Award. What a great weekend. So congrats to the winners and a huge thanks to my pit crew of Kevin Robinson, Ozer Mete, and Warwick Prince (especially for the rotors), to Dave Roberts and Bendix for the award, and of course to the great group of guys I race with. 20.01.2022 Brake upgrade for 2016. Slotted and drilled rotors and Project MU pads all round. Rear rotors 10mm bigger in diameter. Brake ducting installed at front.

20.01.2022 My best placing for over a year. Awesome race with Gary Anger and John Phoenix. Bring on Race 3 tomorrow.

19.01.2022 Huge day at QR today for 2 Days of Thunder. Qualified 24th after a crap tyre choice, but come racetime it was Game On. Finished 18th after an epic battle with Gary anger and Matt Mobsby. I made seven passes, but three of them were on the same cars after a tap lost me three places. Race 2 was another great race with Matt, with us swapping positions a number of times. He got me a lap from home, and I caught him on the finish , but missed by 0.2 second. Up to 17th now. Lets see what day 2 brings.

16.01.2022 So after a rod exited the block at QR, the BeE30 awaits a new heart. Should be ready for the next QTCC round at the end of June.

15.01.2022 New Bell GT5 Sport. Thanks to Revolution Racegear.

14.01.2022 Why I love engineering. With a set of E36 325i rotors donated for the E30, I needed to design an adapter for the calipers. Using Autodesk Inventor, I modelled up a set, then had them 3D printed to try out. Found out where some changes were needed, and voila, they fit. Now to get them made for real.

14.01.2022 Heres my highlights (and low-lights) video from Race 1 at Lakeside Classics. I qualified 10th but started well, getting past Andrew Knight off the start, followed by Graham Street into Hungry Corner. After that I got stuck behind Gary Anger and Matthew Mobsby for a couple of laps. I had a box-seat view as they tussled through the Karousel. with Matt getting past before the bridge. Two laps later I got Gary coming down Eastern Loop as he had a moment, and then set out after M...att, who had got past Leon Kemp by now. I made my move on Leon as he went wide into the Karousel and passed him as we went past the Bus-stop. That gave me a good run on Matt as we hit the straight, and I overtook him quite easily. It seems I then backed off a little as I turned in for the kink, leaving Matt nowhere to go, which meant we touched at around 180-190 kph. You can see the aftermath. I also include some footage from Leons car. Watching that shows how close we came to hitting a second time, as I slid backwards off the track, with Matt slipping though on the grass just before I touched the tyre wall. It could have been very nasty... See more

13.01.2022 3rd in Class. Thanks to BIZ Services, RX automotive, Altegra Marquees, Motorsportzone.com.au, Hacketts Discount tyres

11.01.2022 Moving on up. Best race result ever.

11.01.2022 Yeah baby. Were baaack.....

11.01.2022 One fitting left to go. Looks like I will make the end of Race 4 now.

10.01.2022 Pretty happy with my consistency in Race 4. These are the times in my last 6 laps: 1:25.8996, 1:25.5517, 1:25.4722, 1:25.4502, 1:25.4530, 1:25.2502, and my PB was on Lap 7 with a 1:25.0256. My previous PB was a 1:25.38 at 2DOT last year.

10.01.2022 Round 5 - Race 2 Found my way to 3rd place.

09.01.2022 After being excluded from Race 2, then relegated to Rear of Grid for Race 3, I had a bit of work to do. Off the start in Race 3, I got past Malcolm, Nick Linton and Adrian Blackwell by the Karousel. Annoyingly Adam Pyes Commodore had too much go in the straights, and was very loose elsewhere which made it hard to get round. In Race 4 I got him off the start, then got Matthew Mobsby and Graham by Karousel. Matt had planned to let me through, then follow me until we got back n...ear the front. I also got Andrew Knight at Karousel, but went a little wide at the exit, pushing him off-track. (Sorry Andrew, Ill keep it in tighter next time) Neville Haines was a little harder, but I got him at Karousel, then lost it again at Hungry. I found my way past out of Eastern Loop, and set off after Gary Anger. I nearly got him through the kink, but got into the marbles, and dropped back behind him, and Matt stormed past as well. The race was called at this point, so I got awarded 6th place. 15th to 6th in 2 races was a pretty good effort. See more

09.01.2022 Thanks for the BeE30 sticker

07.01.2022 Best race so far. Started in third, finally got past Gary Anger into second. Then spent the rest of the race trying to find a way around Deans wiiiide Commodore

06.01.2022 My first real race. And it had to rain....

06.01.2022 Well, Oakey Sprints have been run and won. The BeE30 got 2nd in class and 19th overall with a really great weekend. Thanks again to BIZ Services for making it possible. This is a comparison of runs 3 and 7 at Oakey Sprints 2013. Run 3, I missed 3rd gear and got 5th. Pulled it back into 3rd, yet the overall run was 0.08 better than Run 7, where I got all the gears. In fact even in the split times, the first lap of Run 3 was quicker than that of run 7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-McGuSivLY4&feature=youtu.be

04.01.2022 Two personal best race times, 1:01.02 and 1:00.98, two personal best race places including my first Race Win, and Second Place for the round (another first). All in all a pretty good race weekend.
