Head straight to the registration area which is on the back-side of the Clubhouse, collect your seat post number, put it on and then be ready to marshal at the start line. Please NO congregating around the clubhouse, the park is huge so practice good social distancing and spread out around the park area. This applies to both riders and spectators. Spectators will be asked to sign-in using a QR code. It goes without saying that you should NOT come to racing if you are unwell and social distancing must be observed before and after the race. If you have visited Victoria or a known hot spot in Sydney we would also request that you do not attend today's race. 17.01.2022 We're just over a month away from the Retro Day at Heffron Park on Saturday the 14th November. The big news is that the Snowy Wilson Classic is back and will be run during the Retro Day. It will be run as a handicap with all Div 1 & 2 riders combined into handicapped groups - with plenty of prize money on offer. Of course the day will include the retro show and style competition, a swap meet, craft beer and plenty more.... Everyone is welcome - make sure it is in the diary!

13.01.2022 Randwick are proud to be supporting the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Pedal4Kids event on Saturday, 10 October. This is going to be an online event via Zwift! However you can donate $$$ without doing the event - it's a win - win! 12.01.2022 Well it’s a wrap at Retro Day folks! The afternoon finished on a high with the Snow Wilson Memorial Div 1 & 2 handicap! And what a race it was. With 10 Team BridgeLane riders taking to the start line, it was obvious they would try to dominate the race and it paid off with Jensen Plowright taking the win from Myles Stewart (Nero Continental) and the in form Tom Bolton (Oliver's Real Food Racing) in third. 12.01.2022 Last night we held our 2020 AGM and we are delighted to announce the new Committee: President: Shane Mattiske Vice President/Race Director: Dave Jackson Treasurer: Andrew Corder... Secretary: Lesley Bridge Ordinary Committee members: Rick Jordan (Chair Club Committee), Joe Herschel (Sponsorship), Audrey Braun (Social & Women), Sue Jackson (Race Secretary & Social Media), Chris Georgas (Juniors), Angelo Loukakis (Historian and Advocacy), Andrew Dolley (Club Rides) We would like to thank Dave as outgoing President for his contribution to the rebuilding, rebranding and regeneration of our Club over the past five years. He is handing over the reins to Shane Mattiske who has been on the Committee during this rebuilding period and is looking forward to the continued success of the Club. Dave will remain on the Committee as VP & Race Director. We also welcome Lesley Bridge into the position of Secretary. Lesley will take on this role whilst Sue moves to the position of Race Secretary. Dave and Sue, along with the Race Sub-Committee, will be responsible for Saturday Racing at Heffron which, as people will know and appreciate, is a huge part of our Club for which we take great pride in having provided for over 45 years. We would also like to thank outgoing Committee members Alex Rosenwax and Anthony Griffin and welcome newcomers Joe Herschel and Andrew Dolley. Special thanks to Alex Rosenwax who has been responsible for our Club Rides and who has done a fantastic job to ensure these are well supported and safe for our members. 12.01.2022 SATURDAY RACE REPORT It was another big day at Heffron Park with good numbers in all divisions. We were treated to some exciting racing which was made possible thanks to the volunteer team led by Mathieu Bremaud! The Heffron Park Junior Academy got us started with around 30 juniors turning up. 05.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that 2021 will consist of four point score seasons: 1. 6 Feb 27 March 2. 17 April 19 June 3. 17 July 11 Sept... 4. 9 Oct 11 Dec Points will be awarded to the first 4 place getters in each division (10,8,6,4) and if you reach 40 points in a season you will earn a promotion to the higher division and a $100 Bikebug voucher. 40 points in Div 1 also earns you a Bikebug voucher! Don’t forget we will pay prizemoney to 4th place in each Division (min 10 starters) and prizemoney to 1st woman in each division (min 3 starters). We are also committed to running some women’s only races and if numbers are good (~10) we will hold a separate Division 4 women’s race each week. Our aim is to provide enjoyable, competitive, safe racing for members of all Clubs within Sydney. All you need to race is an AusCycling race licence. Entry fee is $20 for over 19’s and $10 for under 19’s. Each week we will be taking entries via the online Buncheur system and encourage you to sign-up and give it a go. 04.01.2022 Heffron Park Junior Cycling Academy Every Saturday from 1pm we run this program before seniors racing. It is open to juniors from all Clubs and of course we welcome those who are completely new to cycling too! We cater for kids aged 6 to 15 and the program is run by a qualified cycling coach (Daniele Vanolini). The kids are divided into three groups (Swans, Rabbits, Roosters) and each group starts with some skills training before finishing with a race. It is free for Randw...ick members, however a nominal $5 fee applies to riders from other clubs. For more details email: [email protected] The strong westerly winds and school holidays, meant our numbers were lower than usual. Today we saw 20 kids getting out on an afternoon where the wind was playing havoc. Todays drills were riding in straight lines and figure 8's. With todays winds it proved very difficult. These types of drills are fundamental to them becoming better riders and racers in the future. We change the drills every week to keep them interested. Watching these kids developing their skills and making new friends is what we are all about. Well done to the podium placegetters today! 04.01.2022 SATURDAY RACE REPORT On a sizzling Sydney day even the wind at Heffron didn’t cool things down! First we must thank Sean Bloch and his volunteer team (Brayden, Devon, Mike, Ethan, Rob A, Nick, Allan and Rob H) who set-up and made sure the races happened without incident and Rick, Richie, Jacko & Sue who officiated, commentated and handed out cold drinks! Second we want to thank everyone who came down and raced, putting on a great show for the spectators in really trying ...conditions for bike racing! Today will be a day you won’t forget. The highlight was probably Philip Taaffe’s ride in the combined Div 1 & 2 race. He managed to sneak off the front and rode solo for the last 15 minutes and just held off the fast-finishing bunch to take a great win! 03.01.2022 **URGENT COVID UPDATE - RACING IS CANCELLED ** The Premier has just announced that all non essential activities in the greater Sydney area should cease. As a result the Committee has made the difficult but responsible decision that racing today is CANCELLED. If measures are not taken immediately then the Premier has said we may go into strict lockdowns like in March. No one wants this right now. Please spread the word and stay home and stay safe. We would like to thank every...one for supporting our Club racing in 2020 and wish you and your families a merry Christmas and a better new year. We will resume again on 30 January.

02.01.2022 What an epic Retro Day for 2020. Great weather and a celebration of all things cycling! The juniors got us off to a great start with over 30 kids doing an ITT around Heffron. Then it was onto scratch races for Division 3, 4 and 5 and there was some great racing across all grades. It was nice to see new faces giving it a go and lots of them making the podium too! Then we had the retro races and around 30 riders dusted off their steel bikes to have a crack around the track.... The competitive category was won by Tom Bolton who then backed up on his carbon steed to take out 3rd in the Snow Wilson Memorial race. It was great to see lots of our regular Heffron riders turn up to race their steel bikes (who knew they even had them!!). Then the main event being the Div 1 & 2 Snow Wilson Memorial Handicap which saw a bumper field of some of the best riders in the state and those from interstate too. Team Bridgelane took the line honours in an awesome sprint finish. Thanks to all the riders, spectators, swap meet stall holders, people that displayed their retro bikes, the Randwick Mayor Danny Said, the food trucks, Paul Craft for keeping us entertained all day and of course all the Randwick club members who made the day possible. I think it is fair to say Retro Day 2020 was a huge success! It was a great morning weather wise and I think most would agree the event went off without a hitch. Special thanks to Grant Roe from Costin Roe Consulting who made the event possible by obtaining the numerous consents from authorities and persevering throughout the process. We can’t underestimate the effort and time that went into this.... Thanks also to Logan Insurance for their sponsorship of the event, allowing us to run our Club Championships as well as open the race up to other clubs and put some great prizes up on offer.
