22.01.2022 Welcome to all of the lovely families visiting Rainbow Beach for the school holidays! Once you've had some beach time don't forget to visit Lake Poona. Just drive back out of town a few kms and turn left into Freshwater Road. 3kms along Freshwater Road you park at the Bymien day use area and then walk from there to Lake Poona (4km walk return...around 40 mins each way). The drive is accessible to 2WD cars also so this is a great walk that everyone can do!

Mudlo rocks have plenty of sand so you can travel approx 3 hours before and after low tide making it perfect for a day trip to Double island point. The main beach is calm and protected from the wind too. Drop in for all your beach gear, local maps and advice on walks etc. Enjoy and stay safe!
