21.01.2022 Hello lovely people, I do not frequent Facebook for many reasons....yet this message is important. I plead you to stay at home and give our incredible medical professionals a fighting chance to attend to all people in need of their help. ... My clinic is now closed until covid-19 disappears. I could continue business as usual in a face mask, gloves and ppe gowns BUT I am not willing to contribute to the curve or unknowingly transmit this virus nor increase the caseload for my incredible friends and colleagues on the frontline dealing with this pandemic. Good news is I will be offering online Chinese herbal medicine consults for those that need me to continue to help support their health and wellness; .....but for now I am adapting to the new world of homeschooling. Please wash your hands thoroughly and stop touching your face, be vigilant. Please drink loads of warm water, warm water with lemon, herbal teas - regularly and all day long. Eat Warm soups, stir fry’s, slow cooked meals, roasted meals, and loads of fresh fruit and veg that are Easy on your digestive system. No cold water, ice, food out of the fridge and raw food....you’ve all heard me bang on about this in clinic!!! Change your clothes and wash your hair when you return home after a visit to any public space....before greeting your family or sitting on the couch. This virus apparently survives on hair and fabric fibres too... Wipe down surfaces frequently, especially door handles. This virus lives on metal surfaces for up to 9 days. See this challenging time as an opportunity to slow down, review your priorities/ goals/ dreams and direction in life, Be with your family. And if you can’t be with your friends & family: then hello : whatsapp/FaceTime/Skype/zoom: embrace technology. Stop hoarding grocery items. Just stop. Supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open as announced today. We could all do with eating a lot less... just saying.... and toilet paper is not going to boost your immunity. Be grateful that you can Get in the garden. Soak up some sunshine. Breathe in the fresh air. Exercise. Cook that epic recipe that you’ve lusted over from that incredible cook book. Read. Rest. Sleep. Yoga. Pilates. Youtube some Old School Richard Simmons aerobics. Play guitar. Macrame. Knit. Sing. Laugh. Crochet. Meditate. Couch surf. Watch those movies. Sew. Draw. Paint. Turn up that music and kitchen dance. Learn Tai chi and QiGong. Keep calm and STAY HOME for This too shall pass. We can all stop this virus from spreading. Now more than ever it’s time to take responsibility of your actions and your health, for yourself and for those around you who may be immunocompromised or have underlying health conditions. Be safe and stay well. Beck

15.01.2022 There is so much information and emphasis on fertility and conception out there, but what about the long road ahead for women as mums? Postnatal and postpartum support is crucial in supporting mum’s to navigate through the ongoing challenges of their own hormonal changes and their child’s development. Each phase can bring new joy and challenges, but what if the mum just hasn’t had a chance to recover from their fertility, pregnancy, labour and newborn sleep deprivation journ...eys? Traditional Chinese medicine and other traditional medicines such as Ayurvedic medicine, place great importance on proper rest and recovery for the mum after the birth of a child. Often termed the golden month where mum and bub have time to bond, sleep and recover from the phenomenal efforts of pregnancy and labour. Family, relatives and close friends help out with the rest. Sounds Idyllic yes, but should we be striving for better care postnatally? Absolutely! Dr Oscar Serrallach is an Australian integrative GP who studied functional medicine and bases his practice on helping women postnatally. He recognises the realness of their unrelenting fatigue and has created solutions through diet and nutrient supplementation to restore energy and wellness. He has written a fantastic book which I highly recommend The Postnatal Depletion Cure. This podcast touches on some of the reasons why relationships can disintegrate in those early years of parenthood and illustrates the important role that partners have in supporting mums particularly in the first 5 years postnatally. https://podcasts.apple.com//pregnancy-birth-a/id1067153980

13.01.2022 Hello lovely people, A big thank you to those who have been referring friends and family my way. I have had so many enquiries about when I will be back in clinic. ... For now I am continuing to homeschool so I can't really give a specific return to work date until classes at school resume. Chris Booth and Rachel Simpson are also registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners in Orange, so if you need treatment please give them a call! 12.01.2022 At the end of the day, it really is all about helping people whilst most importantly doing no harm. Many therapists are practicing outside of their field of expertise and including acupuncture aka dry needling into their treatment repertoires to enhance treatment outcomes. This is a compliment to acupuncture practice in many ways with so many practitioners adopting its techniques, showing that it does enhance the healing process. ... Yet, it’s time to stop, think and ask, how much actual education, supervision and training has the person who is sticking those acupuncture needles into you really completed? The article below is American, however applies to what is happening here in Australia and internationally.

06.01.2022 Hello everyone, I am so happy to announce that I will be back in clinic from Tuesday 2nd June. My clinic will be taking extra precautions to ensure continued safety for all whilst adhering to NSW Department of Health guidelines regarding social distancing and Covid-19 cleaning recommendations. ... I Look forward to treating you again soon! Stay well, Rebecca
