20.01.2022 Happy Anniversary to all WOMEN in Rotary . Thirty-four years ago yesterday, on May 4, 1987, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Duarte decision that Rotary Inte...rnational must admit women into Rotary clubs. Dr. Sylvia Whitlock of the Duarte Rotary Club became the first woman to serve as a club president in Rotary International, and Duarte Rotary became known as The Mouse That Roared. Women now comprise over 23% of our worldwide membership. A few years ago there were zero women on RI's Board of Directors. Today six of the 17 Directors are women, with more rolling on for the new Rotary year! Director Johrita Solari is serving as Holger Knaack's Vice President for 2020-2021, the fifth woman to serve in that role. Two years ago, Brenda Worthley Cressey became the first woman to serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Rotary Foundation. Dr. Whitlock just turned 86 years old. How wonderful is it she can now enjoy the culmination of her advocacy for women in Rotary in the selection of Jennifer Jones as the first woman to serve as RI President for 2022-2023! Congratulations to Jennifer Jones, and especially to Dr. Whitlock, on the ultimate achievement of this journey she started nearly 40 years ago. #RotaryInternational #Rotary #WomenInRotary

17.01.2022 On the 2nd of June I turn the big 4...0. I'm old I know! So instead of a gift of socks or another kitchen gadget I don't need, I'm wanting to raise money fo...r the Rotary Foundation as a way to celebrate this milestone. As you know I like to give my time to help many fellow Rotarians and clubs around the world and I never ask much in return, but in this instance I'd like to ask for your help of a donation of $40 for "Forty for Forty for the Foundation" The best way and most universally applicable payment solution is the In honor of facility in My Rotary, So you just have to click the link to donate $40 or more or less of you want https://my.rotary.org/donate. The donor: clicks the "I would like to make this donation in honor or memory of someone" button clicks the In honor of button, completes the Name of honoree info eg: Evan Burrell or my Rotary I.D 5716134 You can also notify me by email to if you like [email protected] The system will automatically send you "the donor" a tax receipt and give the appropriate recognition points or you can allocate the points to me too. Let's make this a birthday celebration to remember #fortyforfoundation #rotaryinternational #rotaryfoundation #rotarianevanburrell

01.01.2022 As I look back on 2020, I reflect on how our lives have changed. The global COVID-19 pandemic brought pain and loss to many of us. And for almost all of us, our... daily lives, family time, and work also changed this year. But we've made it to the end of this difficult year, not on our own but by reaching out to one another, as we always do in Rotary. With each passing year, I become prouder of our organization. 01.01.2022 We are in December ... where has the year gone? Rotary has December as Disease Prevention and Treatment month.

01.01.2022 It was a fantastic Saturday night where we took our fundraising for End Polio Now in a brand new way! Thank you so much for everyone who donated and participated in the fun! Stay groovy

01.01.2022 Congratulations to fellow Rotarian Michelle Young and personal friend of nearly twenty years on being awarded a sapphire pin for her PHF. This all took place at the celebratory function attended by members from all five Rotary clubs on the occasion of celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia. I knew there would be tears but she is a legend, Michelle, no one could have done the stella job of Treasurer for the East Gippsland Fire Aid committee as you have Gillian Reeve
