21.01.2022 Season's Greetings As the end of the year approaches, it is time to take a cumulative deep breath and to draw strength from all the challenges of the past year. There may be more uncertainty ahead; however, this year has shown us that community is so valuable to us all. And our community is one of the best going around! Thank you to all of you who supported our call out for food donations, bag making, caring for our chooks and gardens and who joined our online activities.... We will be taking a break, and the offices will be closed from December 24 to January 18. When we reopen, we are planning (yes we are!) a community celebration and a return of all our usual activities as well as some new ones. We wish you all a relaxing festive season and break and look forward to seeing you again in the New Year! Simone, Cathy, Oren, Susan & Lisa https://mailchi.mp/983cccfc01aa/rclc-term4-3812058

17.01.2022 Annnnnndddd we're back! We are now 'open' to accept donations for the Belgium Avenue Neighbourhood House Food Relief program. Thank you to everyone who donated last time. We delivered all the food in the beautiful handmade tote bags to BAHN and residents of the North Richmond Housing Estate were very apprecitiative. The Food Relief program will continue in this next Stage 4 lockdown as it will be even more important now to reach out to the vulnerable members of the community.... So, when you're out on your one hour of exercise, perhaps grab a couple of items (canned food hand weights?) from the pantry and drop it off at Studio 1 (behind Patch cafe on Bendigo st) There is a staff member there Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm. Please call 9428 9901 and a staff member will let you in for a contact-less drop off. The following are items much needed: Cleaning and sanitary items: Laundry detergent, toilet paper, household cleaning items Pantry items: Olive oil, rice, soy sauce, noodles, sugar, tea, lentils, flour, maize flour, tofu, soy beans, salt, coffee and milk, chickpeas, pasta, canned tomatoes, coconut milk. Thank you in anticiaption, we are very lucky to be a part of a giving and engaged community.
