21.01.2022 Well girls and boys the waiting is over the TARMAC flying model aircraft circus takes off tomorrow at 10.00 am.Hope to see you there, bring the family, but don't bring the wind!

20.01.2022 I hope we have all been making lots of balsa dust and spending way too much time in the shed getting new or repaired/refurbished aircraft ready for the day this nasty covid-19 is shot down. Being grounded for this long just isn't fun,but it will be great to hear the sound of favorite engines again as we point into wind and bend the stick and head for the clear blue. It looks like some of the restrictions may soon be relaxed, let's hope the government will consider flying R/C model aircraft 3 metres apart in a paddock on the edge of civilisation as small a chance of spreading covid-19 as a team of footballers falling all over each other....one can only hope. Keep the fire burning guys. Cheers.

18.01.2022 Greetings lovers of aircraft large and small, some good news.... The T.A.R.M.A.C Annual Scale Model Aircraft Rally looks like being a goer,so dust off those old favorites and newly completed Covid-19 Scale Models and head for the bush. August 15th-16th at our Somerton flying field and prepare for a great weekend of flying, food and friendship. We look forward to your company. Cheers.

17.01.2022 A couple of happy snaps from the TARMAC Scale Rally 2019.In front of the pits, visiting flyers Ian and Dave sharing the Top Gun trophy for their double Mk. 9 Spitfire routine which wowed the crowd, well done guys. It's so annoying when your model is hard to start-Dave's prototype GB Racer.

17.01.2022 Annual TARMAC Scale Rally postponed until it is safe for all to attend.

16.01.2022 Another TARMAC Scale Rally done and dusted. We enjoyed perfect flying weather for both days.Competitor numbers were down but those who came had a great weekend of flying and comradery.Thank you to our visiting flyers, our sponsors ClearView IT and the Atrium Shopping Centre and the public for making our annual event a success. We hope to see you all again at our next event.Cheers,Larry Hoskins (TARMAC president)

15.01.2022 OOOOOh! Only 2 more sleeps to go until the TARMAC Flying Circus.

15.01.2022 Some good news at last!We can fly again as from Friday 15/5/20! I hope to see 10 club members out at the field on Sunday morning, all maintaining 1.5 metre social distancing and tearing some serious holes in the atmosphere. Let's hope this is the start of better times for not only aeromodellers but people the world over. Cleared for takeoff at o.900...you beauty!

15.01.2022 Hi all R/C Model Aircraft fans, how good is it to see a sea of green( mainly weeds) replace our Somerton desert, lots of mowing and slashing to be done but the field is starting to look good again.Yet another working bee this Saturday to try and keep it under control,a lot of work, but worth it.We are going to hold a glider day soon,so keep your eyes out for notice.Cheers.

15.01.2022 Only 5 more sleeps girls and boys until the TARMAC Scale Model Aircraft Rally at our Somerton flying field, bring the family out for a weekend of fun watching great scale model aircraft filling the sky.Free entry, plenty of parking and the barby will be running the whole weekend.See you there.

11.01.2022 Now we're mowing, slashing all this strange green stuff that is now covering our desert, amazing how quickly it all changed

04.01.2022 Well, aeromodellers we are all grounded until further notice.I know it's a pain but we have to do the right thing and comply with the new laws.I guess it will be a good excuse to hook in and do some building, repairs or renovations on some of our toys and that long list of things that your better half has been at you to do for ages.Who knows how long we will be grounded for,3 months,6 months??The important things will be to keep you and your loved ones safe and not to lose you...r passion for our great hobby. We should all make a point of keeping in touch with each other, emailing, exchanging pic's of our building or repair projects, talking to fellow club members on the phone or via social media. We will still have to address the issue of field and infrastructure maintenance, which should be considered essential.Stay safe and keep the fire burning.Cheers. See more

04.01.2022 Great day to be an aeromodeller, perfect flying conditions, good mates who share the passion and support from the public...and we get to do it all again tomorrow
