23.01.2022 *Royal College Learning Management System LAUNCHED* Dear parents, Royal College is in the process of rolling out an online learning management system. Alrea...dy 4 classes in grade 10 have been on-boarded as a pilot roll-out. The system was to be launched at a later date, but given the early and long holidays declared, it was decided to accelerate and bring forward the launch. The effort involved in onboarding over 5,000 students and close to 200 teachers in the middle and upper schools (grade 6 onwards) is quite significant. Over the next few days, coordinators will be in touch with you through the class Whatsapp groups to give you guidance on using the system. I wish to thank The Royal College Union for the initiative, the School Development Society for providing assistance in the implementation and all members of academic staff who extended support with study materials and assignments. I request all parents to encourage your sons to login-in and attempt all assignments. There could be many shortcomings in the system given that we accelerated the launch scheduled; request you to bear with us as we fine-tune, improve and enhance the system. *Principal* , *Royal College*

22.01.2022 Dear fellow Royalists, We in Australia, as well the whole world, are grappling with the unprecedented crisis brought on by the novel coronavirus, and its healt...h and economic impacts. RCOBAA is endeavouring to go above and beyond what is expected of us, to get the information and services needed to those in dire need as you try to make sense of the severity and nature of the chaos we are dealing with. It is important to follow all official government advise and to stay updated on any developments, as it is a rapidly evolving environment. If you are an Australian Citizen or resident you may be eligible for support through the Federal and State Government, which have unveiled a raft of welfare measures to help alleviate the financial stress caused by loss of income and livelihoods. Further information could be obtained through https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/ Assistance to Royalists in need: At this moment we are thoughtful and concerned about the many young Old Royalists who cannot avail themselves to the above welfare services due to the fact that they are on Temporary/student visas. We are made to understand that many students employed on a casual basis have lost their jobs and means of sustenance. Furthermore, as Sri Lanka has closed her borders they cannot get back to the safety of their families back home. To this end RCOBAA is trying to reach out as is best possible, to provide essential supplies and provisions through the generosity of the committee members and the wider membership. If you are an Old Royalist and in need of any sort of assistance please do contact us through email ([email protected]) or our Facebook page and we will endeavour to be of assistance. Our volunteers are providing this service with utmost respect to your privacy and with the sincere wish of fostering fellowship among Royalists during this time of need. In addition, we have amongst our membership a panel of Doctors, who have kindly volunteered to assist those who may need medical advice or help, especially those who may not be covered by Medicare. We would like to appeal to our membership that if you are keen to assist us in this endeavour to get it touch via a committee member or through email. General information and relevant contact details: The responsibility of Sri Lankan citizens residing in Australia falls on the Sri Lankan High Commission. Further information and specific concerns/needs could be raised with the Consulate General (https://www.slcgmel.org/) in Melbourne. Ph 03 92904200, email [email protected] All Sri Lankans living outside Sri Lanka have been invited to register on the Contact Sri Lanka platform allowing the Government of Sri Lanka to reach out and provide assistance during emergencies such as the COVID19 outbreak. Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns, need any assistance or know a fellow Royalist who may need assistance during these trying times. #togetherwecan #covid19 Stay safe, Yours in fellowship, RCOBAA Committee

04.01.2022 The president and committee of RCOBAA were fortunate to have got this opportunity to assist our fellow Victorians in their hour of need. Together with our brethren from the STCOBA in Melbourne a host s of generous donors and other school alumni chipping in and with magnanimous support of five bands, featuring two old Royalists, a DJ also an old Royalist, sound engineers and our very own committee member Dinesh Perera (doing an excellent job with lights all night long), it wa...s fantastic event of music and dancing. We thank all the above artists and technical people for providing their services for free of charge! With generous financial support from the donors and sponsors a sum of $20,952 was raised, will be donated to the VICTORIAN Bushfire Appeal fund that is being administered by Bushfire recovery Victoria, the state government entity working in collaboration with Bendigo Bank and Salvation Army. A BIG THANK YOU to all our members who attended or made donations in cash and kind to help us achieve this target. #Area51 #Mystery #DjNaz #Cloud#9 #Redemption #PressureDrop #LEOPHOTOGRAPHY #DjHax #Sound2Light
