24.01.2022 Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta I must have said the word Gannawarra zero times before I heard about the Solar Project there. Then at least 81 times after! Essentially they took a space, and built the infrastructure to create demand for an industry, that lead to a huge rate increase, giving that shire the funds to invest in arts and capital work projects. One of which went to Amsterdam for an international architectural award against countries li...ke Spain and India! So I asked what’s ‘our Gannawarra Way’? Led by Eco Dev team we went out to Katunga Fresh and looked at large scale hydroponics. Which led me to think about ‘Retiring on Prosecco Hill’... not a real place, but knowing the tonnage of Prosecco demand was increasing. That we need more producers, that we could for one moment imagine a retirement village in the beautiful King Valley where green-sea-changes could retire to a communal vineyard system where they shared resources for harvest and pruning and day to day management and help contribute to the requirements of Prosecco production! And they got to live in our great Southern Ward with like minded friends! Given the need to find new industries and welcome them to our terrific municipality in order to drive economic development- what’s your ‘Gannawarra Way’? We’ve got expanding aerodrome facilities coming. We’ve got innovative thinkers at https://startupshakeup.co/ We’ve got the ingredients - what’s the recipe for success you can envisage? #octobervotes

21.01.2022 Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta Just over 24hrs til the last mail at 6pm on Friday 23rd October! 21.01.2022 Ms ELM Tree Ms Maddy Wood Ms Ocean Ms C Ms Arly Ree Rae... Ms Tilly D Ms Hannah C Ms Emily Ive ... my list goes on ... No name means less, no name means more... I strive for equality, I look to these three legends of rights in their recent passing, I wonder - no I hope these little ladies in my presence will not face the disparity the three below championed against. Growing up with four awesome sisters, Teresa Hicks, Andrea Fuller, Kim Fuller, Amos Fuller, I never imagined they would have less, be offered less, or earn less - but it happens, sometimes unconsciously in many elements of life in society. I’m thankful, and hopeful of more to come, that in our great municipality we have a number of our own leading women. Trailblazers with lots to offer the business world, the political world. Let’s continue to encourage them to grow into big shoes that raise them to the ceiling. #octobervotes #valeruth #valesusan #valehelen

20.01.2022 Four years ago. Four weeks since you went away. Four more years to hopefully continue to make you proud, even from afar.... I’m not sure when it gets easier like some say. But I’m fortunate, and glad you gave me the final push to put my hand up and to serve my community back then, and again this second term. Tonight I took an affirmation to do my best by the municipality, and it’s citizens. It’s a great team, and I look forward to the journey ahead. Thank you Pop, for making me the kind, giving, thoughtful person I am.

18.01.2022 From the Valley to the Dredge to Sunset Track I am so fortunate to have had an opportunity to have represented this great municipality Whilst my designated ward is City, I care deeply about the roads, the events, and the communities across the whole breadth of Wangaratta ... I will continue to advocate for all Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta #octobervotes

18.01.2022 One of my unfinished projects that propels me towards a hopeful second term, is a conversation about how we want our young men to grow up safe. Some are influenced by peer pressure and we lose them in unfortunate ways. Some are too reserved and we lose them through mental health gaps. Some are brilliant and we need to reinforce their traits. Thursday night Women's Health Goulburn North East had their AGM. They do invaluable work on a number of topics and one subject was a for...um a while back featuring a number of speakers. I truly appreciate the connections it offered and the path it lead me towards, to explore what more we can do in the field. I hope to have a chance to continue the conversation #octobervotes

17.01.2022 Somehow we went from sunny February visits from Collingwood & Richmond... To spring time in the sun! With a little wind, rain and maybe hail too! In between, whilst Dion’s ankle may have given him grief, and COVID may have given Cafe The PreVue some grief... I’m comforted to see a controlled easing back into the hustle and bustle of ceramic clinking to the tune of coffee and meals!... Now both are looking to a brighter track ahead It’s been pleasing to see a number of hospitality businesses over the last couple of days post job vacancies, hopefully hinting that some things are returning to a more positive new normal. Let’s continue to support local and explore our region #octobervotes #alisamazinglyresilient

16.01.2022 One of my first enjoyable moments from year one of this journey is like a circle around to year four. In fact a number of times I see the circular nature of this role. And whilst I talk about unfinished business, it not through lack of trying, it’s about the process. You have a project idea, or a passionate group who do, or you see a project in another council group. ... At budget time there are literally hundreds of projects put forward, from us, from staff, from the public. Through an exhausting process to which many contribute that list comes back to less than a hundred potentially. Harvest Trails and Markets co-founder David Mason spoke at an early function I attended. Not long after that I took the journey, from the middle of Sydney to Richmond and stayed a couple of days. I immersed myself in the 2000 vision of David and his colleagues. Immediately I could see the potential in our backyard. From Connie Northey Myrrhee Premium Boer Goats to the many producers featured Wangaratta Farmers' Market on-line including candidate Jack from Herry's Harvest A project that is on, and should I be successful will hopefully continue to be on the project list -until the vision, support and time is right- our very own trail that helps visitors taste, forage, explore and create with the best of our local produce. A celebration of the food and wine bowl we live in Full circle to that time I made spaghetti...

13.01.2022 Re-elect me to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta It’s surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us, but for all life on Earth - Sir David Attenborough I’m nowhere near as smart as that David! ... But I’m aware enough to see that the scars we are leaving on the natural beauty of where we live, will not heal for the young people in our lives. Sustainable living in its many forms is an increasingly important inclusion in planning for the future. Not everyone has to subscribe to the thinking. But if we all contribute in some way to rectifying the past, we just might give our young people a start. #octobervotes

11.01.2022 Over the last four years I’ve been fortunate to meet so many people via a number of channels. Particularly via committees, of which I’ve sat in on a few... And chaired for some... With the organization:... - local drug action team, LDAT - arts, culture, heritage advisory committee - cemetery trust - place naming committee - sport and recreation advisory committee - Goulburn Broken Greenhouse Alliance - Wangaratta economic development & tourism advisory committee - Winton Wetlands Committee of Management - Waste Wise Wangaratta One of my fave ‘sit ins’ was the returning officer for Wangaratta Players Inc at their annual general meeting over the last few years One of my least exciting was the time I went to an Audit Advisory Committee- however they are doing one of the most integral functions of public oversight, and watching over the financials for the organization Outside of the organization I also Chair, or have chaired: - Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues - Wangaratta Connected Community - Wangaratta Relay for Life - Business Wangaratta: Chamber of Commerce This pic was following one meeting, when I headed into Greens Hill. Whilst Mokoan is predominantly outside the municipality, we have representation based on the tourism and environmental significance of the project. Often I’d be asked ‘What’s involved in the role?’ It’s never a straight forward answer - as you might see there are a number of variations. Most of all it’s about what you put into it, and the take aways. I have thoroughly enjoyed the connections and opportunities, I look forward to continuing these Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta #octobervotes

05.01.2022 Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta. Covid has been a myriad of emotions to most. Our Grit n Resilience has been tested.... I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to visit Canberra with Ashlee Fitzpatrick Candidate for Wangaratta City Ward and a team of terrific people that presented to Minister Hunt about the importance of better resourcing at a local level. We quietly walked away with $2.7million for Mental Health in our municipality. It was nearly three months before the ink would dry on the minister’s signature. A further twelve months plus, and we now have a program in place, an awesome staff leading the conversation and a more united community. There’s still work to be done. But I’m hopeful we can work together. In a positive manner. To achieve more. And to protect our vulnerable people. Our young people. Our isolated people. If we remember to be positive, to be helpful, and to bee kind. #octobervotes #daviddavedavidarthur

04.01.2022 In installment #2 of Coffee with Candidate Clarke we talked future items. Priorities for the potential next term, and then about the fiscal nature of budgets and rates. A staunch advocate for smart financial management, Ken will hopefully be there to guide a mixture of new and re-elected councilors cohesively through some important planning in the initial part of the term.... From our first coffee, @graemegardner offered some feedback for candidate Clarke - if you wish to also contact Ken you can message him on 0438218685 with ideas and suggestions to consider in the next term #octobervotes Auth by K. 01.01.2022 Four of my family members belong to VicPol, including these two brilliant people. One taught me to work hard for what I want to achieve, the other to be dutiful and diligent in actions. Together they have almost 75 years service with Victoria Police. Several of the parents of little people I aim to plan for are members. They integrate into our community in schools and groups. All whilst working to keep us safe. So today I simply say,... Thank you

01.01.2022 Re-elect to reinforce a positive path forward for Wangaratta Are any of you trying to explain to a toddler why the sun is still up?? Are any of you trying to control their change in behavior as they rebel against sleep patterns??... Have any of you tested their reaction to a smoke detector? I know it seems extreme, but I watched as my nephew slept through a false alarm, and now it plays on my mind. Day light savings is often a trigger for checking your alarm battery and could also be a time to test their reaction and fire awareness It’s also a trigger to start planning and preparing your fire safety plans on rural properties especially I am pleased to see the advocacy of @crharrybussellforwangaratta and Harvey Benton, along with the unanimous support of colleagues has helped with a recent project in Carboor to ensure a safer egress in the case of fire www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan #octobervotes
