24.01.2022 We were very excited yesterday to celebrate another little milestone - the cows test out the new yards for the first time.
24.01.2022 RC Rosie was helping me move the weaners to their day paddock this morning, when she was joined by a 'helper' who had escaped from her pen and keen to get involved - Wilderness Megan. Didn't say anything until I called her away... pretty happy with her efforts :)
23.01.2022 Pretty happy with our Jersey x Blonde heifer - Tuppence, and brotherly love - Rainier and Rupert.
22.01.2022 We have been blessed with good grass this season for our hay this year.
20.01.2022 WITH WARMER WEATHER COMES MOSQUITOS! WITH SUMMER APPROACHING I THOUGHT I'D SHARE THIS AGAIN WOW-- I am making 100 of these!!! Have you noticed the Mosquitos are... already out! Here is a homemade trap to help keep you and the kiddos from being a blood donor!!! HOMEMADE MOSQUITO TRAP: Items needed: 1 cup of water 1/4 cup of brown sugar 1 gram of yeast 1 2-liter bottle HOW: 1. Cut the plastic bottle in half. 2. Mix brown sugar with hot water. Let cool. When cold, pour in the bottom half of the bottle. 3. Add the yeast. No need to mix. It creates carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes. 4. Place the funnel part, upside down, into the other half of the bottle, taping them together if desired. 5. Wrap the bottle with something black, leaving the top uncovered, and place it outside in an area away from your normal gathering area. (Mosquitoes are also drawn to the color black.) Change the solution every 2 weeks for continuous control. To SAVE this recipe, be sure to click SHARE so it will store on your personal page. Share
