25.01.2022 Morning all, Last night the section AGM was held, with main order of business to be to elect the committee for 2020. After four years as section head, I have decided to step down from the committee, and with Clive Silva and Reece Schaefer happy to continue on, one place had become available. Lee Harvey from Tasmania had put his name forward, and with no other valid nominations, has therefore been elected to the committee for the next year. Congrats to Lee, welcome on board a...nd good luck going forward. Other announcements to come from the meeting are that the ACT club will be hosting the 2020 Nationals, with an exact date to be determined. On a personal note, I'd like to thank Clive, Reece and Damian Ware for being very able fellow committee members over the past four years. It hasn't been easy at times, but I do feel proud of where the section is now, and excited for its future. Also thanks to all the racers who have provided feedback, ideas and support over the years, ultimately it is your section, and nothing without people turning up to race events. And on that note, I'm signing off. See you all trackside. Ed Clark

15.01.2022 All, an update for you all. As promised, the executive have met and discussed the overall stance of RCRA and sanctioned events with respect to government advice. Due to the inability for ALL racers across the country to practice, to attend their clubs and attend events sadly our advice of all sanctioned events being on hold until June 30 still stands. All IFMAR events, including the IC 1/10th worlds in Brisbane, are still indefinitely delayed.... We are hopeful that regular club racing can get back to normal at some stage this year for all racers and once this occurs we can review the national calendar. We remind you that we all have a responsibility to do our part with regards to stopping the spread and we must adhere to government advice as a minimum. This week has seen a number of state and territory governments relax restrictions regarding social gathering - this is wonderful, welcomed news. Numerous locations are now allowing up to 10people to gather in social and non-contact sporting situations. Social distancing of 1.5m spacing and 4sqm per person in covered areas still applies in all instances however. This means *some* clubs will be able to open their tracks for practice days. It will of course depend on individual club circumstances, government advice and council rules. We encourage clubs that would like to open their tracks to seek guidance locally and also adhere to the guidance provided in the attached statement. https://drive.google.com//1KYF8v5r09NUJ3PyJgzbBKBGWON/view

12.01.2022 Great to see! New Carpet Track in Casino courtesan of CORRCCA - a great group of members working hard together (with a helping hand from RCRA as well) to achieve a dream. If you’re within reach of the track, make the effort to go cut some laps!

11.01.2022 Evening EP on road racers - in particular 1/12th racers! If you are keen to attend the worlds in the UK and hadn’t thought about it until now, or you know someone who might be interested please read on. A little while back we took EOIs to attend from racers, confirmed their spots and then paid the relevant fees on their behalf to attempt to secure those spots. ... Unfortunately one of our racers is no longer able to attend - so we have a spot available that we are committed to with IFMAR. So, we are on the lookout for anyone that has always wanted to race at the worlds, would like to represent Australia and has the means to support themselves to travel to the UK To compete in January. I know we are possibly looking for a Unicorn, but hey, we want to try and help out the person that can longer attend (and has paid for their entry!) and who knows - it might be you! More details of the event can be found at the FB page per the link below. https://www.facebook.com/uk2020/
