20.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! For our participant's, HorsePower is a place of healing, hope, confidence-building and joy. It has been a difficul...t year for us all, but the joy we saw upon our participant and volunteers faces as they returned to programs was amazing. Every day at HorsePower centres, people with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges find joy with their favourite horse, gain strength in the saddle and work through their own personal problems to find hope in the arena. Over 400 participants count on your generosity each week with the fee for individual sessions only covering a portion of the cost to run our centres, which is why your investment in our participants and horses is so important. This Christmas, we are launching a new fundraising campaign to gift our centres with items they need to ensure our horses remain happy and healthy over the summer months so they can continue to provide life changing moments to people with diversabilities in 2021. So remember to keep up to date with our socials for more information in the coming days.

15.01.2022 Did you know that licensed physical therapists can utilize hippotherapy as an effective treatment tool (as part of a total plan of care for appropriate patients...) to rehabilitate patients and return to prior level of function? Some patient populations may include arthritis, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke. #theahainc #hippotherapy #OT #PT #SLP #leadingtheway #treatmentwiththehelpofthehorse

09.01.2022 To the lovely people who are coming to help on Sunday we need to wash the horses, tidy them up and plait. Starting 10am to make sure they will be dry in plenty of time for a 2pm start. We will provide lunch and a drink in appreciation of your help. Thank you so much.
08.01.2022 Over the last few weeks many centres across the state have been participating in the HorsePower Australia Progressive Dressage event. This event is a unique eve...nt where a judge travels around the state to judge participants in a variety of dressage tests. The event is an initiative of HorsePower Australia's Dressage Sub-committee and aims to encourage participation in dressage events in a safe and welcoming environment. Our congratulations to all participants and thanks to all their coaches and volunteers who spent hours washing, pampering and plaiting the horses and supporting them in this years event. Special thanks to this years judge Chris Hope and her husband John for assisting with pencilling and to Dressage sub-committee member extraordinaire Fleur Litster for organising and managing this event which continues to go from strength to strength. If you participated in our 2020 event we would love to see your photos and hear how you did #HorsePowerProgressive Photo Credit: Christine Hale

03.01.2022 Last month a number of our participants competed in our first HorsePower Virtual Games. This event was organised in Lieu of our Community TAB State Games which... were unfortunately postponed for 2020 due toCOVID-19. Below are a few highlights from the various Wild West themed events that happened across the state. Our thanks to all the participants and centres who joined in this years event with some outstanding props and costumes. The team at Community TAB have their work cut out for them deciding on the best dressed for this years event. Results are expected in the coming days so remember to check back here to see these and other events.
