05.01.2022 These photos are from this time last year. This week marks what would have been our last week of riding with endless Xmas parties happening As a coach it was a time to reflect on the year that was & lots of emotions to deal with. This year has been incredibly difficult for everyone. I would like to acknowledge our riders & their families. I know how hard it has been for them during lockdown. When I rode Brad after having over 4 months off, I can’t begin to tell you the o...verwhelming sense of relief & calmness that came over me. Where all your fears & worries disappear for a short time when you are at one with your horse. It just takes over your body. Lots of emotions began to build & yes their were tears. The first one that came to mind for me was ‘is this what are riders feel when they get on’. Particularly when they are unable to express themselves. They have missed this incredible feeling that the horse brings to them. The riders start to believe in themselves, develop trust & self esteem. Someone mentioned it as a ‘Journey of self discovery’. I think we help our riders to reach places they didn’t know they could go & we see extraordinary results. I have such a wonderful team volunteering with me & my passion is still there waiting for 2021. The Team at RDA Oaklands are really looking forward to continuing the wonderful work we do. See more
