25.01.2022 COVID-19 has increased the pressure on many of those working to get essential supplies to communities. This difficult operating environment means many in the road transport and logistics industries are faced with additional stress and mental health pressures. Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (HHTS) is a major new industry-driven initiative that is focussed on delivering better mental health outcomes in the road transport and logistics industries. Many of Australias leading tr...ansport companies have come together to support HHTS, which is built around three key pillars: 1. An increase in the number of people trained in mental health at transport and logistics facilities 2. Standardisation of policies and regulation at these facilities 3. Helping the individual be healthier from a diet and mental health perspective. HHTS will be officially launched on 18 August 2020 via a 30 minute live streamed Q&A style program. Industry participants are now invited to register to view this launch event. https://www.healthyheads.org.au/ Registrations will close on Friday, 14 August.

13.01.2022 Join us to discuss these three vital questions: What can communities do that organisations cannot? What can organisations do that communities cannot? What... can communities do with organisations that neither can do alone? The relationship between organisations and communities is changing and this change is going to require a shift in behaviour from both officers in organisations and residents in communities. Discover the power of focusing on your (town’s) assets, capacity, and opportunities instead of your (town’s) needs, deficiencies, and limitations. This workshop includes morning/afternoon tea and lunch. Join us for the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Masterclass as Peter demonstrates why he believes that the traditional customer segmentation and needs analysis approaches are the way of the past, and that a focus on assets and strengths is the future. About the Facilitator Bank of I.D.E.A.S. founder and current Director Peter Kenyon refers to himself as a community enthusiast. He is motivated by the desire to help create caring, healthy, inclusive, connected and enterprising communities, where all community members feel ‘they matter, belong and can contribute’, and where communities discover and mobilise their strengths and transform themselves. s

01.01.2022 RDA Goldfields Esperance are proud to be teaming up with Australian Wool Innovators (AWI) to support ASHEEPs Esperance Shearing Training School. This is the second year ASHEEP have held this pilot program to provide young people in our region with a fantastic opportunity to learn the skills needed to get a start in shearing, wool handling, pressing and stock handling. The RDA Goldfields Esperance visited the shearing school in operation this week and had an opportunity to me...et the participants and trainers. ASHEEP coordinated the training program to attract more young people into the shearing sheds to address concerns over the aging demographic of the shearers in the region. The two week workshop not only provided the participants with the skills to work in the shearing shed, it also provided them with an opportunity to meet representatives from the shearing industry and shearing contractors. With COVID-19 travel restrictions, international shearers that would usually help with our WA Shearing season will not be coming. This will mean more opportunities for these young people to get a start in the industry in the coming months. Congratulations to Basil Parker and ASHEEP for putting together this great training program!!
