25.01.2022 Yep, definitely get those feels on our riding days. Gotta say it's like that at workshops and busy bee days too.
23.01.2022 Looking like being the perfect day weather-wise for week #2 of RDA Kingborough's return to riding. Enjoy that sunshine everyone and don't forget to pop on some sunscreen and don't forget a hat volunteers. [ Image description: weather forecast in Glenorchy for Thursday, 10th September. Mostly clear. Maximum of 17 degrees. Currently 6 degrees at 6.11am. ]
23.01.2022 Today is the start of National Volunteer Week and we'd like to say THANK YOU to all of our past and present volunteers. Whether you've volunteered for one day or you've been volunteering with our Centre for years; you truly do help to make a difference in our community. #thisRDA #NVW2021
22.01.2022 Kicking off RDA Awareness Week by wishing all of our RDA horses a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. You bring joy and the ability to "CAN DO" to so many of our riders and our volunteers too. #thisisRDA... 21.01.2022 RDA Kalang would like to give a huge thank you to Lou Hanslow and the Hobart Vintage Machinery Society for their donation of much needed hay and for their ongoing support, very much appreciated. 18.01.2022 We focus a lot on keeping our horses safe and healthy and it's just as important to keep our riders and volunteers safe and healthy too. Thank you Variety and Shiploads.
18.01.2022 Come rain or shine , we are still on for our working bee today. Starts at 10am and we'll finish up around 1pm. If it's wet, we'll move to doing jobs that can be done undercover. See you soon.
18.01.2022 Hi everyone. We hope you had an enjoyable 'stay at home' school holiday break. We can't get back to lessons at the Centre yet, but we'll be sharing RDA lesson activities each week that you can do at home. Stay tuned and keep on social distancing.
17.01.2022 Thank you to the mini crew of helpers who turned up yesterday for the Working Bee. We managed to get poo pickup completed in two paddocks and some tack was cleaned too. P.S. Carmen says thanks for coming and doing the housework in my paddock.
16.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing some awesome designs .
15.01.2022 To all our wonderful volunteers, super riders and families, and our courageous committee members, our June Working Bee will be on a Sunday this month (not a Saturday). Date: Sunday, 6th June. Time: 10am - 1pm. Jobs To Do: paddock management (poo pick up), garden maintenance and tack cleaning.... Sustenance: tea, coffee and biscuits provided. There's always plenty to do, but it's lots of fun and a great opportunity to get together outside of a riding day. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing many hands making light work. #thisisRDA #RDAsouth

12.01.2022 UPDATE - Coronavirus - RDA Centre Closures. Today, both RDA Queensland and RDA Victoria have moved to close RDA Centres across their States due to the rapidly c...hanging situation of the Coronavirus. RDA Centres in Queensland and Victoria will be closed for non-essential services by the end of the week. RDA SA State President has advised no change to procedures in SA have been planned at this stage. The Federal Government is meeting this Friday to discuss closure of non-essential services and schools and this may impact on further RDA Centre closures in the next few weeks. RDA Australia released an update today by email to RDA coaches, State Offices, Associate Members and State Boards which includes information about insurance and contingency planning for potential closures to all but essential services. 09.01.2022 We are hoping the wind and rain hold off for our return to riding today. But in the mean time, here's some photos from last Thursday's return to riding session for RDA Kingborough at our Centre. Doesn't the Sensory Garden look awesome? #thisisrda #returntoriding
05.01.2022 We are so grateful to RACT Insurance for selecting RDA Kalang as one of the 44 additional recipients to receive the COVID-19 Community Support Grant in the second round of funding. The grant came at a time when we were really struggling with funds to pay for feed for our horses following the suspension of our riding program due to COVID-19. We are happy to say with lessons back up and running, it’s great to have our horses, riders and volunteers back in the program. Thanks ag...ain RACT, much appreciated. Newspaper correction: in the photo caption, the horse’s name is Carmen. #RDAKalang #RACTinsurance #glenorchygazette [ Photo: RACT Insurance chief executive officer Trent Sayers with Carmen the horse and RDA Tasmania coaching coordinator Claudia. ]
