16.01.2022 Great discussion today on the usage of Low Charge Ammonia (LCA) heat pumps for Aquatic Centre heating. The discussion was moderated by Kylie Hargreaves (Chair, Alliance for Energy Productivity) and included Dr. Alan Pears (Senior Industry Fellow, RMIT University); Amna Abdalla (Sustainability Engineer, Yarra City Council) and Ross Kingston (Senior Sustainability Officer, Brimbank City Council). As mentioned by Kylie Hargreaves, it is important to make aquatic centres much mo...re efficient and lower costs and emissions. According to Amna Abdalla, savings of up to 36% could be achieved by installing heat pumps. Insights included being very clear when designing a sustainable facility that it needs to be a fossil fuel-free and zero-emissions facility.
