24.01.2022 Good quality rest! 7-8 hours of good quality sleep a day for adults and 9-10 hours for children does wonders for your immunity. Sleep is the time when your body replenishes the immune system by producing infection-fighting cells called cytokines and antibodies. Sleep also aids in strengthening immunological memory, which is the ability of the body to recognise foreign substances it has previously encountered and thus fight them off more quickly. #sleepcoach ... #rdcclinical #healthcare #anxietyrelief #holistichealth #relaxationtechniques #volunteeropportunities #complementarymedicine See more

23.01.2022 MEET OUR TEAM / / Who am I? My name is Lara... What do I do here at RDC? I'm a Trial Coordinator so I conduct interviews with participants and track their progress. I also do a lot of work behind the scenes developing the systems that help our clinical trials to run smoothly. I love clinical research because: It demonstrates how much we still have to learn about our world. I love working for a company that specialises in complementary medicines and helping contribute to learning more about the benefits and uses of herbs, plants and other natural supplements. What is the main question I hear from trial participants? What product am I on? ... I don't know! Most of our studies are double blind placebo controlled trials which means that neither the participant nor the investigators are privy to the unblinding information during the study. Participants receive a special 'unblinding card' once their participation if finished. But the investigators don't know until after the data has been analysed. #teamwork #dreamteam #rdcclinical #healthcare #holistichealth #volunteeropportunities #complementarymedicine

19.01.2022 COVID-19 Update Reduced contact / Remote study participation available. To our valued community...... Our top priority continues to be the health and wellbeing of our participants and staff, while delivering robust clinical trial outcomes. We remain open and available to see trial participants; however, we have implemented some changes to the way we offer our studies in response to COVID-19, as we try to navigate through the changing situation. Where possible, we are implementing either reduced contact or remote options in place of face-to-face appointments. If you are interested in a study, or already enrolled - please reach out to us if you would like to discuss either of these options. General Information about our site and staff: 1. RDC is a small research clinic located in a private business square in Newstead. We are not situated near a hospital or medical centre nor in an area where large numbers of people congregate. We offer parking directly at our door so access is quick and easy. 2. All of our studies are conducted on healthy individuals. We do not assess or treat patients who are ill, including those with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19. 3. We have reduced the number of trial co-ordinators on site so that the maximum number of participants attending at any time is 3. All appointments are individual - there are no group sessions. Our waiting and interview areas have ample space to allow for social distancing. 4. Shared surfaces are regularly sanitised, as is all equipment and desks after each participant. Hand sanitiser is available in waiting and interview areas and is encouraged to be used by all visitors and is used by staff between each appointment. And lastly...we are a small, friendly team and remain available to discuss any queries or concerns you have about our site or studies :)

18.01.2022 Are you getting enough sleep? Matt Walker, author of Why We Sleep, shares information in the video about how important it is to get a good sleep. 17.01.2022 Did you know that not all health studies are pharmaceutical? At RDC Clinical, we conduct clinical trials on complementary medicines, including vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements. Complementary medicines are used to maintain health and well-being, or help improve symptoms of various conditions that impact quality of life. As with any medication, it is important that robust research is conducted to determine safety and efficacy. As there can be unwanted side-effects wit...h some medicines, having well researched complementary medicine alternatives allows health professionals and end users greater choice when considering which products may best suit their desired health outcomes. Our goal at RDC is to contribute to the knowledge base of evidence-based medicine to help improve health outcomes in the community. #rdcclinical #healthcare #holistichealth #volunteeropportunities #complementarymedicine

17.01.2022 Get moving! Getting enough physical activity could prevent harmful bacteria from taking up residence in your body, prime your immune cells to better recognise and respond to threats, prevent overreaction of the immune system in the form of chronic inflammation and lower stress hormones that can depress the immune system. Simply doing 20-30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each day such as a brisk walk, dancing, swimming etc will help to keep your body healthy.... #rdcclinical #healthcare #stressrelief #holistichealth #immunesystem #volunteeropportunities #complementarymedicine

07.01.2022 There are many reasons why our participants choose to be involved in Clinical Studies, including to selflessly contribute to research, have access to new products/treatments and learn more about their own health. THANK YOU to each and every person who has generously given their time to research - you are amazing and we appreciate the valuable contribution you make!

04.01.2022 What is the experience like for our trial participants? I have participated in studies through other organisations and found the whole process to be unorganised and tedious but RDC, what a breath of fresh air. Totally organised and professional with well trained, informative and friendly staff. I would not hesitate to be involved in future studies."
