23.01.2022 Our first team social event of the year! We hit the lawn yesterday after work for a competitive - sorry, friendly - game of bowls. Teams that play together, stay together.

19.01.2022 Meet Andrew Baker. Andrew joins us after three years at a major professional services entity where he worked in Defence critical infrastructure and technology, leading a delivery team in Queensland. Andrew’s career spans 25 years and has covered a range of sectors, including Defence, Energy and Transport. 21 of these were spent in Army, where he left as a Lieutenant Colonel.... Among his many roles in Army, Andrew was responsible for designing, developing and delivering the first bilateral whole-of-government Humanitarian Aid and Disaster relief planning event in Fiji. He also authored the Australian Defence Force Concept of Employment for the deployable Joint Force Headquarters and has twice been recognised in the Australia Day Honours list for his performance as an instructor and for distinguished operational service. With a family history in the forces, Andrew has long held a sense of national pride, deploying on numerous occasions across the Middle-East. It’s what drove my desire to serve in the first place. We asked him this afternoon about his biggest takeaway from his time in Army. For me, regardless of the endeavour, your people genuinely caring for them, developing them and providing a sense of purpose is your number one priority. People and purpose also drew him to RD. The culture and enthusiasm within the organisation are inspiring. The clarity of intent and vision describes a positive future. Excited to have you here, Andrew!

07.01.2022 We are excited to see Queanbeyan's Spearpoint has won a multi-million dollar contract to develop a game-changing, sci-fi-like helmet that will bring cutting-edge technology to Australian troops within the next few years. Its design will be fitted with digital display glasses, able to search for a person's identity in a criminal database. It will also grant users greater field vision, track the location of gunshots, and offer real-time footage to command posts. The team also has an 'invisible cloak' in the works, making the wearer invisible to radars and heat sensors. Massive congratulations to Andrew Jiear and the rest of the Spearpoint team! Your work will propel Defence decades into the future.

03.01.2022 Meet Kelly Nicholas, RD Consulting’s newest senior manager! Kelly joins us having spent the last 10 years working in marketing, communication, events, project management and business development. Across her past roles, she has been responsible for managing the communication channels of various organisations, implementing communication strategies raising brand awareness, and overseeing national internal and external events in the public and private sector - including for DHA a...nd ActewAGL. And while Kelly will continue to work in the communication space here at RD, as she told us when we chatted to her this afternoon, her career didn't start there. Growing up, Kelly had dreams of being a music producer. My degree was actually in music industry management and studio production. I found myself in the marketing world after organising and planning a number of concerts and music-related events, she said. I’m bossy. And as it turns out, that trait lends itself better to events and project management. What a weapon. We're excited to have you on our team, Kelly!
