23.01.2022 You may be eligible for both JobKeeper (ATO) & Jobseeker (Centrelink) at the same time! JobKeeper is not reported directly as income like it is for employees. The money is paid to your business, and should be reported to Centrelink as business income via a Profit & Loss statement. If you still have business expenses to cover (car payments, etc) then you can use these to reduce the actual income you receive from JobKeeper.... 19.01.2022 Long pickup? Extra money. Uber does that, just not here. Why not here Uber? Is it because not enough drivers stand up for themselves?

17.01.2022 How much should you earn as a Passenger Vehicle Driver? The Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award 2020 (https://awardviewer.fwo.gov.au/award/show/MA000063) sets out minimum rates of pay and allowances for using a vehicle. Drivers like us would be "Grade 2" employees, with a minimum hourly rate of $21.92 + loadings, plus $0.78/KM vehicle allowance. As we are not full-time, a 25% Casual loading would apply during days, and GST should be added to everything too. Example Friday ...night shift: 4pm-4am (1.5 hrs breaks) + 350KMs travelled 4pm-7pm driving 7pm-8pm break 8pm-1:30am driving 1:30am-2am break 2am-4am driving *Minimum* Total Earnings should be $673.43 (inc GST) When did you last earn $673.43 from 10.5 hours online on a Friday night?

17.01.2022 Uber CEO asks for US states to, prioritize drivers & delivery people for early vaccine access. The first reply show the request is driven by revenue and profits, not actually helping workers.

17.01.2022 In case there was any doubt, here is confirmation in writing. Uber does not have drivers backs and this is common knowledge amongst their own employees.

16.01.2022 In a few weeks, the UK Supreme Court will rule on a case that pits Uber against its drivers who say they deserve the minimum wage, paid sick leave and the right to form a union.

16.01.2022 No permits, no insurance, no clue. Cowboys like this advertise for formals and other events. It’s illegal, and unfortunately ends in tragedy far too often. You can report Facebook Ads and other posts where someone is illegally touting for business - and action will actually be taken. If you see someone doing the wrong thing, lodge a complaint including the plate and a link to the post via https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au//Con/Compliments-and-complaints

15.01.2022 Mark Bailey MP - Labor for Miller Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) Queensland Human Rights Commission Today, a passenger with an assistance animal was refused service by five (5) separate Uber drivers in a row.... Illegal discrimination of a person with disability. The passenger was displaying her ID lanyard, and even messaged at least one driver before they arrived. The small dog, was wearing its official coat and displaying its ID. All drivers have received mandatory training and are aware of their legal responsibilities in this area. Yet it seems many choose to act illegally. How can these drivers be reported? The passenger has evidence of the offending drivers, which can no doubt be corroborated by Ubers records. Enough is enough. Drivers who do the right thing are sick of this issue not being taken seriously

15.01.2022 Warning Uber appears to have a system glitch that riders are exploiting. This XL trip was booked on 3.2x surge (upfront fixed fare). The rider added a stop when in the car. This caused the system to revert to Time & Distance but NO SURGE was applied. This has been reported by multiple drivers in Brisbane. Uber has thus far refused to adjust the fares to the correct amount.

14.01.2022 Weve seen a few people asking if certain payments are taxable and what is required for tax purposes or income estimates. Weve put together the following list ...to help you understand just a few payments. JobSeeker Payment This payment is taxable. This means you: dont need to report it as your fortnightly income as its part of your Centrelink payment need to include it in your family income estimate for FTB/CCS need to declare it as income in your tax return for 2019-20 financial year. $1,500 JobKeeper Payment This payment is taxable. This means you need to include it: when you report your fortnightly income to receive your Centrelink payment in your family income estimate for FTB/CCS as income in your tax return for 2019-20 financial year.

12.01.2022 Now more than ever, essential workers and vulnerable members of our community are relying on personalised transport and wheelchair accessible taxis to access crucial medical appointments, and for other essential travel. TMR in QLD are offering Personalised Transport industry fee relief in QLD. For most Drivers, this amounts to a 6-month extension on their BHTX licence. Wow. Confusingly, they are allowing vehicle owners to get a refund on their BHSL, indicating while they ...say we are essential they recognise not all of us are needed. For comparison in Western Australia, ODBS holders (BEA equivalent) are being given a one-off payment of $2500 (but only for vehicle owners, not those who rent). https://www.vision6.com.au/v/31401/63811139/email.html

07.01.2022 Police are seeking help from the public to identify a man who allegedly robbed a ride share driver in Sydneys south-west. About 6.40am today (Monday 25 May 202...0), the 29-year-old driver picked up a fare in Cullens Road, Punchbowl. A man jumped in the back seat and accused the driver of being late in picking him up. The man was last seen walking in a northerly direction on Cullens Road, Punchbowl, towards Canterbury Road. Officers from Campsie Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the robbery. Police are appealing to anyone who might have been in the area of Cullens Road Punchbowl this morning and might have dash-cam footage of the man, to come forward. The man is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, 20-25 old, 170-175cm tall, slim to medium build, short black hair and a beard. 07.01.2022 Rideshare driver Julie Lamrock tested positive for coronavirus, after taking a Ruby Princess home to Campbelltown. Ms Lamrock said she was initially hesitant to take the job, but was reassured by the woman there had been no COVID-19 infections on the ship. She said to me there were no reports of anyone being sick on the ship, that everyone was fine. She had letters on her saying everything was OK, Ms Lamrock said.... Speaking to Nine News from her bed at Nepean Hospital, she was furious people were allowed to disembark the ship. Its incredible that the government let them come off that ship and let other people get sick like me, who had no reason to be sick, Ms Lamrock said. I cant breathe properly, Im having the hot sweats. After picking her up and taking her home, looking after her, and then now Im sick in hospital - I nearly died. https://www.facebook.com/107637365950776/posts/3244121398969008/?vh=e&d=n

01.01.2022 Another day, another non-response from Transport and Main Roads. It's been almost 3 years since my initial complaint. We pay $16M+ in BHSL fees, which supposedly goes towards "safety & compliance." Yet DTMR only seem interested in issuing fines to drivers for stickers, etc. Why have they never taken any action against the companies? Why is it taking 3 years to investigate a complaint against them, when full evidence has been provided? Why must drivers be forced to break the law on every trip we take?
