25.01.2022 It’s been an age since I’ve posted and even longer since I’ve picked up the camera. But it’s all starting to look positive. Hopefully in coming weeks and months we might be able to leave our homes for more than just the necessities.

25.01.2022 Warning: any more than a two second viewing of this image, may be good for your soul.

23.01.2022 It was nice to be out the morning I took this image. I was exactly 24.7kms from home. Living on the edge, I know.

23.01.2022 An opportunity to appreciate the little things. Bought for me by grandmother in September 96. It doesnt match the other two rings I wear, given its silver and the others are gold. Its also broken and needs to be fixed. But I dont care, it has never come off my finger until I decided to snap these photos last weekend. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

20.01.2022 There’s something about the setting sun and a rocky beach outcrop that is good for the soul. Fingers, legs, arms and toes are all crossed that we will be able to spend quality time down at the beach this summer!

20.01.2022 Survival Kit - so, unable to go out and take some cityscape or landscapes, I have decided to use the time at home to turn a bad situation into a positive one. Test my creativity and learn some new skills. Ive often admired a good flatlay, so heres one of my own. Im not saying this is any good but its a start. What are you keeping in your survival kit to survive the boredom?

19.01.2022 An opportunity to plan your next move. I have been trying to use all this time I have on my hands to work out the whats next. Some puzzles have been easier to work out than others. Some I still have no answer for, but I have been gifted extra time, and thats a blessing In my book.

19.01.2022 Heres a photo of a rock. A colossally monstrous rock. Nothing prepares you for how big it is. No matter how big you imagine it to be, multiply that x 10. Photographs dont do it justice. Believe me, if youve never seen it in person, its HUUGEEEEE and it is oh so beautiful! @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

19.01.2022 An opportunity to make new memories. Hopefully when we all walk out our front doors for the first time, we can look back fondly at this time and say it wasnt too bad at all.

19.01.2022 Happy #topdowntuesday.

19.01.2022 An opportunity to sail the high seas.

19.01.2022 An opportunity to get my buns out! The chocolate kind of course. I wont be doing with no flies! No matter how hard this weekend is going to be for some, I hope you all find a way to spend it happily! P.S I fully expect to cop a bit of flack for my incredible dad humour.

18.01.2022 I heard a rumour this week that Netflix and Stan are in a bidding war to buy the rights to stream Melbourne’s sunsets. Not surprising really. They are classics.

17.01.2022 Fun fact actually no VERY Sobering Fact. From June 2020 to June 2021, the Australian capital cities and states, excluding Melbourne and Victoria, have spent an average of 6 days in lockdown. In Melbourne it will be 147 days this Thursday. This is above and beyond the 50 odd days Australia as a whole spent in lockdown between March and May 2020.... We are still beyond fortunate compared to other parts of the world. But it doesn’t make it any easier. BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER!!! (NO commentary on Federal/State governments is invited) #fuckcovid19

17.01.2022 Our new normal - If you are waking in the mornings and literally thinking to yourself WTF, you are not alone. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

17.01.2022 Pastel Perfection! A little bit of long exposure at sunset goodness.

17.01.2022 What do you call this one love? Stormy skies at sunset in the red centre! How was the serenity? As good as it gets, except for the flies. OMG! THE FLIES!

17.01.2022 There’s nothing quite like dawn. You basically have the world all to yourself and you get to see Mother Nature start to wake up. ISO 100 - f8 - 80 seconds - Urth ND1000

17.01.2022 An opportunity to make sense of it all.

17.01.2022 An opportunity to see a story on a blank page.

16.01.2022 Fly me to the ! Seems like a good place to spend Lockdown 2.0! @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

15.01.2022 Another from the archives that I previously passed over. I have very fond memories of the morning I took this photo of the Antrim Glenns. Taken on a winding country lane, just after sunrise. I was with one of my very favourite people. We talked about nothing and everything which is usually how it goes when we talk. We made friends with the local sheep and laughed over nothing. Which is also how it usually goes when we speak to one another. @ Ireland, Europe

15.01.2022 Our beautiful city is hurting big time. It’s time to end the finger pointing, the bickering and the blame game. It’s time to get on and deal with it. It’s not about us and them. It’s about all of our community. It’s about your mum and dad, your elderly grand parents, your aunts and uncles and your neighbour’s sick child. We still have an opportunity to take control. If you don’t live in Melbourne, don’t kick us when we are down. We need to know you have our backs. We also nee...d you to understand this can happen to your beautiful city and state overnight. Be ever vigilant. Reduce your movements regardless how you justify it. This is no longer about zoom parties, jigsaw puzzles and baking bread. It’s serious shit! ******************************************* Canon 7D Melbourne, Australia ******************************************* #splendid_shotz #ig_underdogz #ig_discover_australia #earthpix #australia_shotz #focusaustralia #cruising_australia #aussie_images #melbourneiloveyou #melbourne #melbourne_photoblog #australiagram #unlimited_australia #australia #canonaustralia #ig_visions #global_creatives #gobefilters #igermelbourne #visitmelbourne #melbourneisme #takemetomelbourne #cityofmelbourne #melbournetodo #melbournephotography @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia See more

14.01.2022 I have to admit that I am struggling with the presentation of my images from my trip to Uluru. I have taken some pretty nifty images ( in my opinion). However trying to present traditional landscape pictures in portrait for the purposes of IG is somewhat bothersome. All my favourites are landscape, and I keep wishing the friendly folk at @Instagram would do something about this frustrating limitation. @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

14.01.2022 Sometimes a sunrise shoot is like craving something yummy, only to find the pantry is bare. The morning I took this image I had to get creative. Here’s my recipe for this Tasty Torquay Time Exposure Treat. Step one: prepare your base. Take one 2 second image focused on the foreground subject. Taking care not to over cook it, you want to capture that swirling goodness in the water. Step Two: put your foreground image to the side and start preparing your topping. 2 minutes shou...ld be enough to give you that creamy silky consistency in the clouds. Step Three: garnish your treat with an image of some gulls playing in the distance. 1/500th of a second should do it. You want to keep as much of that crunchy crispy goodness as possible. Step Four: take your 3 ingredients and blend them together in Photoshop until you get the right consistency. Step Five: season them in Lightroom to your taste, adjusting shadows, highlights, warmth. Yum Yum! See more

11.01.2022 Contemplating those first steps outside into the big bad world. February 4th 2020 at Ayres Rock Airport was the last time I took a photo outside of my home, and Im looking forward to venturing out this long weekend. But Ill do it cautiously and at a distance. There is no room for complacency.

11.01.2022 There is far too much misery and terrible news around the world at the moment, so heres a pretty picture from Melbourne. ******************************************* Canon 7D Melbourne, Australia *******************************************... #splendid_shotz #ig_underdogz #ig_discover_australia #earthpix #australia_shotz #focusaustralia #cruising_australia #aussie_images #melbourneiloveyou #melbourne #melbourne_photoblog #australiagram #unlimited_australia #australia #canonaustralia #ig_visions #global_creatives #gobefilters #igermelbourne #visitmelbourne #melbourneisme #takemetomelbourne #cityofmelbourne #melbournetodo #melbournephotography See more

09.01.2022 Little Yellow Marker - I have had this particular image in my head for about 2 years now and I have attempted to capture it countless times at various locations around Melbourne and Geelong, but they never quite made the mark. Conditions on the morning I took this were perfect. Meaning that all I needed to do was compose it, slap on my trusty #mygobe ND64 filter and enjoy the view while it cooked away for 2 minutes. Not much else needed to be done with it other than a brightness and temperature adjustment in Lightroom.

09.01.2022 Hard at work in Melbourne Chinatown!

08.01.2022 Tasty Topdown Tuesday Tones. Here’s a picture.

08.01.2022 There have been so many stories coming out of the fire grounds for many weeks now, but two stories yesterday really brought a tear to my eye. The first was a story on the Koala sanctuary on Kangaroo Island where they talked about distraught people bringing in injured animals on an hourly basis. They estimate for every animal brought in there is another 100 lying perished nearby. The second was an article on a 7 year old boy who said to his dad while holding a dead Joey Dad..., everything is dying. As I read this I thought no child should ever have to make an observation like that. My beautiful home is hurting big time, but we can learn from this. We have an opportunity to show humanity at its best. An opportunity to ensure this never happens again, an opportunity to lead the world in environmental sustainability, an opportunity to make sure that the 7 year old boy can tell his dad that everything is thriving. We cant undo the devastation we have witnessed on our TV screens but we can grow renewed as a nation and a society. @ Australia

07.01.2022 When the rains came. Continuing to post images from my time in the red center. It was a treat to experience the amazing storm that came through one afternoon. It didnt last long but it was intense. Unfortunately my camera was in the room during the heart of the storm, but the way in which the locals celebrated was a sight to see. It had been many months since they had rain. @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

07.01.2022 Melbourne ISO 2.0 sucks the big one, but Ive had a bit of fun going through the archives. On the day this was taken way back in January, I remember seeing news on the TV in our hotel room about some strange pneumonia virus that at the time I found a little unsettling. If you told me then what would happen to the world not 6 weeks later I think I would have laughed at you. @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

07.01.2022 An opportunity to say Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums in our lives, to all the Mums who are separated from the children this year, to all the Mums who have passed, and most importantly to all the Mums who have been locked down with their children 24/7 for weeks on end... hopefully it wont be for much longer .

05.01.2022 An opportunity to research all the things youve never seen or done in your home town.

05.01.2022 Rest - and rest I have. Ive done sweet FA this last week! Siri tells me that its New Years Eve and that means the year is a wrap. Ill have to trust her on that, because Im currently lost in the Christmas and New Year vortex where I I have no idea what day it is. 2019 has been one of those years that I am glad to see end for a number of reasons, but Im excited to see 2020 start. Like many people I have big hopes for the next 365 days. Thank you to all the people who have supported me in my never ending journey of creation. I hope that 2020 brings you all your hopes and dreams. Be kind to others especially to yourself and those that you love most. Dont forget to dream big and trust in yourself to find a way to make those dreams come true. Happy NY!!! @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

04.01.2022 An opportunity to photoshop the $@?& out of my younger self. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

04.01.2022 Winter Blues. I took this long exposure last June between lockdown 1.0 and 2.0. It was absolutely bucketing down. But I thought it made for a nice simple image. Urth ND1000 - ISO100 - f10 - 25seconds

03.01.2022 I must have looked a sight 30 seconds after this photo was taken. Observers would have seen me sprinting across Bells Beach, yelling like my 13 yo daughter does when her big brother takes her phone and wont give it back. You see, this is the last photo, Skeet, my trusty little DJI Spark took before he had a complete meltdown and took off like a rocket. He wouldnt respond to any of the controls and eventually smacked into the cliff face before hurtling 50 meters to the gro...und, landing on the rocks and the surf. RIP little drone, we had so much fun . @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

02.01.2022 A whirlwind 4 day trip to the Northern Territory, living on approximately 4 hours sleep a day, has left me exhausted yet happy. Was it what I had hoped? No! It was so much more. It is the most awe inspiring place I have ever been to. A land so old, so beautiful and a land that is at times beyond eerie. A land that I can only describe as resembling Mars Terraformed. A land I waited 30 years to see, and a land that didnt disappoint.

01.01.2022 A bit of topdown goodness.

01.01.2022 An opportunity to count the days. 28 of them for me. How many have you counted?

01.01.2022 Uluru isnt the only magnificent kid on the block. Kata-Tjuta was beautiful. My favourite in fact. @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

01.01.2022 One of the best roads I have ever driven on. I could have kept going and never stopped. Taken in the middle of nowhere.

01.01.2022 When youre feeling a bit rubbish, but you have the urge to take a photo. You grab an old Kodak Instamatic that doesnt work and fire away. Why? Because you love it so.

01.01.2022 An opportunity to adjust to the new normal. The was a bugger of an image to capture. I think I took about 60 fames before I got the one I was happy with .
