22.01.2022 A couple of nice classics that we recored today. 1....1960s Bedford truck radiator with a crank hole in the bottom tank. 2....FC Holden radiator, had some tank... repairs and a new core fitted by our radiator craftsman. Both radiators are finished high gloss black paint and come with a 12 month warranty. 22.01.2022 We are still waiting on formal confirmation but it appears RD's Custom Shop will be able to remain open when stage 4 restrictions come into affect in Melbourne tomorrow night at 11.59pm. This is because we are a supplier to essential services such as the mechanical & transport industries. We will be closing access to all retail pick ups from close of business Wednesday 4th Aug 2020. 21.01.2022 An engine conversion normally requires improvements and or modifications to the radiator. This job was for an owner of HZ Holden who swapped a stock 253 Holden ...V8 for a worked 350 Chev. We fitted a high performance 57mm thick core and modified the inlet and outlet tanks to suit the Chev conversion. 11.01.2022 Engine swaps have been taking place for decades but this particular one really stands out. Mathews 2010 Nissan GU Patrol has been fitted with a Ford FG XR6 (Ba...rra) Turbo Engine and ZF auto gearbox! Tuned to 434HP, (324KW), and 642NM of torque at the tyres running 98 unleaded. The turbo is a Garrett GTX3582R ball bearing unit cooled by a custom built intercooler. There are lots of other goodies under the bonnet and the overall engine bay finish is super tidy. We supplied Mathew with a custom built copper brass radiator seen in the photos. We again used our trusted 3 row 16mm tube, close pitch core to deliver maximum cooling. Obviously the copper brass core is much stronger than any alloy unit and can be serviced and repaired if needed. We are the off-road cooling specialists so contact us with your requirements. 1300 903 715. 10.01.2022 Another classic radiator that we built today, this time for a Ford XB V8 Falcon. The customer was very keen to have a new radiator built rather than his old radiator recored. We were able to locate some brand new brass tanks and fitted these to a 3 row radiator core. A neat fit up was achieved with just the right amount of solder. Once tested the new radiator was again inspected before being painted in high gloss black.... Our customer was very pleased with the outcome and was looking forwards to installing it into his XB restoration. 05.01.2022 Take a look at this awesome Ford XY Falcon! Here at Radiator Directs Custom Shop we have just completed a 3 row radiator recore for this classic. Interestingly most of the front end was based around the 6 cylinder model however a factory V8 Cleveland is under the hood and the car is all original. The radiator was recored with a 3 row radiator core to make sure this beast keeps its cool. We love our Aussie classics and love repairing and fixing the radiators that go in them....
